Mosaik 4+

Pretty good app, cheap and cheerful. Only issue is when you don't want to repeat any images (larger image bank than number of tiles you configure) images are still repeated a load of times. Really annoying. If this was fixed it would be a great app.

Exactly what I was after. Simple application for the casual user who wants to have a bit of fun with their photo library. Plenty of different variables to play with for configuring the photos and you can get very convincing results with a bit of careful consideration. A previous review was spot on. For the best results you need to show some consideration for the composition/ colours in the source material being used. Obviously the more varied the better with shots that cover the full spectrum. Otherwise it might just end up looking like a very brown version of the source photo, without using it as a transparent overlay that is (which you can also play with).

My only gripe is that I would prefer it if the application didn’t distort the source material photos and cropped them instead when using the ‘weighted’ option to create a mosaic (not an issue with ’normal’ settings). Personally I don’t think this looks very good although I can appreciate how it may simplify things in speeding up processing time.

Fantastic app. its a great design tool which at first doesn't seem usefull but its only as good as your own imagination. You have to put the effort into the images that go in your image folder to get the great results. clean cropped images on different coloured or just white back grounds have worked best for me. Your dogs picture made up of dogs. Santa Clause made of lots of Christmas pictures. It opens up a world of possibilities. This years Christmas card is very different.
