MotoGP Racing '23 17+

Awesome…. But…

Before any negativity, I’ve gotta say I do really enjoy the game, the way it obviously concentrates on braking and acceleration markers, rather than being just another‘racing’ game is not only brave, but quite smart by the creators.. especially being the official game, makes it a proper fan favourite I should think.
But….
It seems as though the scoring system that’s used for building coins to improve your bike, I.e just on overtaking, is incredibly inconsistent and out of your control!! You could be one of the best, or worst players, yet still earn similar coins on each track.. and some track’s it seems so hard to earn more coins than it’s cost to cover any boost you’d need to build anything more!
And also why you earn instantly on some passes and others a timer comes up? So if you’re re-passed you gain nothing!
Very frustrating!

The only other bugbear would be the fact you can’t seem to pick your own/favourite track to race on?!… again without earning a vast amount of coins, that seems like it takes way more than a season to build up, after which everything resets to zero anyway!!

Aside all that, I do love the playability, the graphics, the fact it’s the official game and includes all the real riders and bikes etc.. but just think if it was to include slightly more of an arcade aspect to it, it would probably be twice as popular!! Yours sincerely!!!!

Surprisingly engaging

Note to Devs: the stats page desperately needs an additional slot for 'previous best time' or notification at the end of each race if I have beaten my time, otherwise I have no easy way of knowing.

Anyway, as with other reviewers, I thought this would be of very limited interest because there is no steering challenge. Just pressing a couple of buttons at the right time doesn't sound like much fun but oddly it is, especially if you set the camera to screen tilt; you can't help moving your head to follow the angle of lean on your bike, like you would on the road. Graphics are okay (bikes seem to float above the track a bit but then you don't get too much time to look around you when racing). Sound is okay but improvements could be made in terms of realism. Summing up, it's not perfect but it's a whole lot better than I was expecting and actually great fun. Nice work - keep it up! Thanks.

Hi thanks for your review - it is really cool when people go to so much trouble to give such detailed feedback, it certainly helps us dial in the game to make it as much fun as possible and respond in a meaningful way to the fans of MotoGP. You nailed it with the camera setting - it is really fun to play in this mode and it is surprisingly difficult to master the timing ... Your comment about the bikes floating across the road is an interesting one - we have some optimizations which we are presently working on and you will see a new update shortly. The sound ... the bikes are actually recorded from Superbikes - we couldnt get a MotoGP bike to put through our sound recording process ... I think thats probably what you mean - especially if you ride a Ducati ... we really appreciate your feedback - thanks so much and we are really happy you enjoy it - ride on ... Graeme

Good but….

This game is amazing, always find it fun just to hop on and play, although….
I find that the AI definitely acts like it,
An example- I’m in p1 defending, the rider behind is 0.012 behind me, we are on the final straight and suddenly every rider behind me starts doing like 400kmh over me doing like 230kmh, I think is a bit biased and the Ai needs improving.
The same goes for the Ai diving (massive gap), then dives down the inside not worrying about track limits nor the other rider.

I appreciate the upgrade system for those still running a starter bike, although I found myself rocking a maxed out Marquez than all of a sudden a level 3 starter bike comes flying through, although I destroy him in the straights, things can be said otherwise.

Keep up the greatest work, you are doing amazing, although it has its problems it has its good sides (e.g the tracks, bikes etc)
