Motorbike 4+

This game is pretty frustrating in that it's very close to being excellent. The gameplay itself, the graphics and physics are all excellent... but the controls and menus and lack of options make it irritating.

The main problem is that there's no way of properly seeing where you're going. The game is the classic 2D side-scrolling bike game, done a million times since the 90s, but it features particularly complex obstacles and no real way of knowing what's going to happen next. You can zoom out slightly by pressing the 'z' key, and in fact this gives a much more usable view. But you can't lock it so you end up holding the key down for the entire time and still you can't see enough to play it properly. At least give some of overview before the action starts so you'll have some clue as to whether you're going to be facing a solid wall or a jump in 20 feet's time.

The other niggles are smaller and, again, could be easily addressed. The menus are just strapped on after the game was finished presumably. As mentioned in other reviews, to change the resolution involves knowing a secret key command while loading! Just bizarre. That said, at the full 2560x1440 on a 27" iMac it does look great - as long as you know how to get there.

So, it's a 3* for now. With relatively little work it would be 5* though, it just needs to be finished. But I hope they do.

When this game worked, it was great; addictive even! However, it simply doesn't work on my MacBook Pro. I get fuzzy lines where the game should be. I've reinstalled, ran if fullscreen, used the high performance graphics card, nothing works. Such a shame for a great game that I have paid for. I look forward to a fix.

This App is extraordinary, along with the graphics too, the physics are just simply mind-blowing and immediately prove to you that the this App is certainly worth the money paid for it.

The best thing about the App has got to be the fact that you can make your own tracks and then publish them on the online track list so others can enjoy them and test their patience and ‘skills’ on this game.

You can choose what color you want your bike and your pilot too, which is a brilliant little add-on to have I think, although it would be better if you could pick the colors individually for each the bike and driver, but I expect that it will soon change to meet my expectations.

I believe that there is endless amounts of fun that you can have on this with such a variation of tracks, and as said earlier, even if you do get bored of the original & online tracks-make your own!

I cannot find anything negative about this App other than a small thing i think they could have added which is time delays for objects when making your own track, (for example: if wanted barrels to drop at a certain point, say half way through the game, i can’t as everything happens straight away).

Generally, can’t fault it!
