Great Game, But…
This would be an easy five star, its a great game which I thoroughly enjoyed, but then after around a month of playing, game started crashing on load-in, impeding my ability to play, i then deleted the app (deleting my decade long save in the process) and redownloaded and problem still persists. 3 stars. Fix this bug. Please? Update: Bug seemed to fix after turning off/signing out of Game Center. 4 stars.
The App I Have Been Waiting For!
I’ve always enjoyed playing mm3, it was perfection. I’ve always wanted to actually see the cars in the race though. And that’s where mm4 comes in, it has 3D Cars during the races and it fixes some issues that you don’t think about. I understand that this game is very new so there is this bug where the cars go off track when racing and sometimes they don’t park in the pits properly during qualifying. Hear is a few features I would like to see: I would quite like to zoom in like VERY close to the car. I don’t know why but it would be pretty cool, also, I’m not a huge fan of the pit strategies. I understand that it adds realism but I honestly prefer the ‘pit when your tires are low’ from mm3. I personally think mm3 is better but I just need to adjust to this new game, and I think, after a month or two. This game could catch on to the market and be an incredible game. Worth the £6.99
Improvement but could be better.
This new game does add some new features compared to MM3, namely the R&D better HQ upgrade paths, as well as practice programmes. The 3D models are cool and certainly add to the realism even though they’re not perfect. This is a 3 star and not a 2 star review because the Devs have reinstated the tyre choice in qualifying which was by far the most irritating issue I faced. The AI difficulty has certainly been upped since MM3 too.
That being said the main issue with this game compared to the PC version is still Qualifying. Qualifying is very fixed, 2 runs then 1 more in the shootout, when often there’s time for 3 runs in the first session that for some reason I’m not allowed to do. And once again there’s very little skill involved in performance tuning, it’s simply luck of the drawer on the cards you get. I was also disappointed to see no new tracks or series added.
If the Devs can fix the 3 issues of reinstating free reign in quali runs, adding more tracks and series, and implementing a better tuning system akin to the PC version, this will be a 5 star game.
