Awesome
This is a truly awesome app. I have catalogued my 1000+ vinyls and 200+ cassettes easily and with accurate and complete track listings, cover art, musicians and dates of release. An unexpected extra was the barcode scanner, online videos and online info… truly amazing and great for completists and music nerds (like me!). Worth ten times the price and you can backup and export your collection to spreadsheet with ease. A great way to really get to grips with your collection and share with others. I wish I’d had this app ten years ago when all I had was a card index! Improvements? How about alphabetical artist listings by second name, Discogs market values, search reveals track, not just album and of course 30 second track audio previews? Otherwise an unbeatable app.
How about ability to flag favourite tracks in an album. Also need to flag condition of vinyl albums. Ability to build playlists? Mix tapes?
This app has completely revitalised my vinyl collection. Very many thanks guys.
Great app
It’s a great app and the tech support from the developer is brilliant, always happy to answer questions very quickly.
Before entering your collection though I would recommend have a practice run and make sure you get all the detail you need importing from Discogs in the set up in MusicBuddy. I wanted to distinguish between cd and vinyl and it wasn’t until I started scanning cd’s that I realised the ‘media type’ wasn’t coming in. So I’m having to export to csv, edit, then re-import. No major hassle but I could have avoided it and maybe a later release would allow a ‘refresh’ option from Discogs, to update any additionally selected fields? Just a thought.
I would really recommend this app though.
Perfect catalogue software
After deciding to catalogue somewhere around 3000 albums this program is amazing. Easy to use, small footprint and incredibly cheap.
Multiple options of entering the data and the program fills in all the album details including album cover. It actually makes it a pleasure to use. Can’t praise it enough
