Same Qobuz Problem - Now Solved, at last!

I’ve had the same Qobuz problem as Biggles1999. I contacted Qobuz customer support, who replied that they were aware of a problem relating to MusicCast interaction with Qobuz. They said it had been discussed with Yamaha and that the issue would be addressed by a MusicCast update. So there we go! Having said all that, like Biggles1999 I’ve found that I can use AirPlay to stream high res audio from Qobuz to my Yamaha streamer via my iPad. Not perfect, but it still sounds great!

Update November 25th 2020 - Firmware Update today for my MusicCast Streamer, and (WooHoo!!) miraculously everything on Qobuz can now be properly accessed, including searches for albums and tracks. Yamaha took their time, but it was worth the wait. I’m a happy man! It clearly was not an App issue, as the App has not as of today been updated, but in effect it’s like using a new App. No more messing with AirPlay!

Top banana 😉👍

Been using this for a few years now, can’t fault it, only ever had 2 problems with it:- It remembers last playlist even when you cleared it (bit annoying when you turn it on and get blasted out by your other half’s last choice of tunes 🤣), and sometimes crashes when deleting tunes from playlist while playing.
Note to those who seem to have ongoing problems with this app, get someone who knows what they’re doing to set it up (or learn a bit of patience and go through your set up slowly and carefully), you’re welcome 😘👍

Great devices, App not quite there...

So, Yamaha MusicCast... the functionality and sound of the devices is excellent and, when the app is working well, it’s simple and easy to use. However, most of the time this isn’t. The app is quirky, browsing media servers doesn’t cache any results so, if you want something at the end of the alphabet you have to scroll, wait, scroll, wait etc to get there. WHY? Everyone else can manage this! Likewise, if you have multiple control devices (iPad, phone etc) the musiccast devices can disappear from one device and not the other (randomly). It’s infuriating. There’s no search functionality so large libraries are a pain (prob linked to the view being live not cached) and the app itself is not super stable... finally, the app has to be configured for each device you use it on. Super annoying given the cloud exists or at least the ability to save and export profiles should happen. That said, it is updated frequently and it is getting better... just not fast enough
