Did What It Says It Does

I wanted an App that converted .MXF files to a format that I could edit in iMovie. It can convert to .mp4, .mov, .avi and .wmv formats. Using the Download Folder option it found all 42 files scattered through multiple sufolders and converted them to mp4 files without an issue in 17 minutes - abouit 1 GB in total. The name of the convereted file is the same as the ouput file except for the file type. It gives you a coversion bar for each file so you can see how long its taking. I could choose the output folder but would have liked a default to download to the folder the input file came from. It used a fair bit of system memory but what else would you expect. On the whole a simple and efective free app.

Disappointing

What the blurb doesn’t tell you is that the output from the free version is a maximum 640 x 480 pixels. There are other limitations too. When you try these operations, it will tell you to get the paid version, but even the paid version blurb doesn’t tell you if it gives you a full-sized picture or not. As it doesn’t covert to full resolution, you can’t even judge if it does a good enough job to make you want to buy the full version. As I said, I’m disappointed.

Unfortunatly...

A free MFX converter that doesn't convert MFX files costs £20+ is, in my books, a really bad investment. I want my money back!
