Maybe I should’ve bought a Tesla?
There are bad apps, there are REALLY bad apps and then there’s the ‘My Cupra’ app!
Right now the app is telling me that my car is unlocked - it’s not! It really isn’t! Honestly! It’s making me so nervous that I’m going outside and checking every 10 minutes just so I can lock it (again!)
The app is also telling me that my car has only got 125 miles of charge - yet when I sit in the car, and turn it on, it tells me that there’s nearly 200 miles of charge there. (The actual percentage is correct though - which is why I was tempted to give this app TWO stars!) JOKE!!!
This morning it was cold outside, so I pre-conditioned the car from my lovely warm bed! (I may not be as good a storyteller as Charles Dickens but I’m sure you can see how this story is going to unfold!!) The app said ‘Your request has been sent’ but the car was still freezing when I got there - I bet you saw that coming didn’t you…
The car is great, but the software inside and this app are both god-awful.
You can’t give a 0 star rating, but that’s what it deserves…

The worst App I’ve ever used.
Great car, but the software including the app is diabolical. There is simply no excuse for such poor performance. The ID.3 was released years ago, they really should have gotten on top of these issues by now. EV’s are extremely dependent on good software, to navigate to chargers, manage the charging process, know your charge level, charging speeds and times, optimise routes etc etc. just downloaded the latest version and there are zero visible improvements to the major problems that everyone talks about in the chat groups. Estimated range still wrong!!!!! On the home page!!! The first thing you see?!?!?! They need to give some of these cars to the developers. There is no way they would put up with these faults if they had to use this app themselves. The speed of the app loading pages is the glacial. It’s actually quicker to go to the car and change the setting from there…….so disappointing.

A let down
As others have commented the car is great (which is the main thing), but the app reflects badly on Cupra. It probably isn’t a coincidence that VAG have messed up the tech in the Born/ID3 vehicles as well, the infotainment system is widely regarded as being one of the poorer ones out there. I’ve read somewhere that heads have rolled over this and I’m not surprised. For me the worst thing about this app is it doesn’t actually offer much and what is does offer is unreliable. So, I can’t unlock the car with it.. never mind at least I can check my range? No..it is consistently wrong. You have to be in the vehicle to get a true reading. Fortunately the preheat function works, albeit slowly…if it didn’t this app would be 100% pointless. As it is it’s about 90% pointless. Shame really..looks good though like the car!
