Stay connected with My Honda+.

My Honda+ is compatible with the Honda e, HR-V (2022 onwards), and selected grades of Jazz (2020 onwards).

To fully benefit from My Honda+ Connected Services, please visit your local Honda Dealer to activate the Telematics Control Unit in your car. This will enable you to connect the app to your car and subscribe to a range of packages allowing you to check your cars security, control your cars features remotely and send destinations directly to your in-car sat-nav. You can also invite friends and family to use your My Honda+ features and share your car. There’s a virtual garage within the app, so you can add or remove invited drivers at any time.

Here is an overview of the subscription packages:

Core Connectivity:

• Monitor the security of your car and receive alerts if windows or doors are open or unlocked.

• Lock and unlock your vehicle remotely.

• Manage Vehicle Health Checks, with the full report of your check-up.

• Remotely control your climate control and charging. You can even create charging and climate schedules. *

Safety & Journey:

• Use the car locator to find your Honda on the map.

• You can define a Geo-fence around the car, and set a specific radius, to be notified if the car leaves the defined area.

• Save your favourite journeys, view your journey history and send destinations to your in-car sat nav.

• Request roadside support in the event of a mechanical breakdown or accident, via the simple click of a button in your My Honda+ app.

Honda Digital Key**:

• Activate and share Digital Key to your Honda e or HR-V. It works with Bluetooth, which means it will work without an internet connection.

• Start your car with your smartphone.

• Open your charging lid* or close your windows when in Bluetooth range of your car.

App-alling

Took delivery of a Honda E Advance in October. Managed to get the app set up in January some 3 months later, after numerous emails, phone calls and a visit to the main dealer. The app is unstable and the performance is poor (it fails to update the status of the vehicle security, charging etc). It has just kicked me out again and is preventing me from logging back in (this has happened on several occasions previously). I can honestly say I am staggered at how poor this is. The car itself is excellent but it was sold as a connected package and frankly the connected services which the app should facilitate have simply not been available for the majority of my ownership. I do feel the vehicle has been mis-sold and the customer service team, whilst unfailing polite, have been let down by a failure to actually sort out the fundamental technical issue(s) with the Honda + app. Get a grip on this issue Honda and sort out the Honda + app.

Great cars, bad app

Honda are pushing this app on there website, extolling the benefits of their app. Shame in reality the app is slow to communicate with the vehicle, slow to activate any of the functions on the car. Slow in general, when it works. After purchasing my Honda e, I had to phone Honda support to enquire why the app didn’t work. I was told that the dealership was responsible for switch on the communications unit in the car. So I arranged this with the dealership who reluctantly activated the unit. Honda. Turn it on by default. What harm would it do? What app on the App Store requires a third party to allow the communication between the app and a device? My pebble watch doesn’t. My Tile Bluetooth fobs don’t require a dealership to activate the Bluetooth. The sad reality of the EV evolution is, legacy car manufacturers holding on to historical notions of dealer support, rather than a tech manufacturer perspective of user support for apps, in apps. Why is this an App that get regular complaints about reliability, crashed, being locked out of the app; and yet no update to fix these issues.

Thank you Honda on getting back to me, with your stock answer. I have already emailed you about this problem and you have not solved it. The last time I used the app; it logging in, and I was given an error page. At the same time my phone alerted me to a data breach. Coincidence or synchronicity you decide! Haven’t used it since. Shameful!

Flawed Genius

I love the idea of the app and it’s functionality but there have been several issues that affect the experience of using it.

Firstly I had a very glitchy registration process with the app getting stuck at various places ‘loading data’ and not progressing. The activation process for subscription which involves sitting in the car with it switched on for 20 mins sounds OK but when activation failed I spent literally hours waiting for something to happen. Eventually sorted by tech support which after several days sorted stuff out.

The dashboard and digital key all good ideas but undermined by slow responses and worries about the login process going wrong - if you have a digital key you need to be able to trust it or else get marooned somewhere. The app could behave more gracefully when the car is out of cell range - as this is going to happen regularly.

Finally - I would like some much more diagnostics/statistics/graphs for the fuel/electric usage/charging - e.g. how the fuel consumption changes once the battery is empty, it’s not even possible to tell the charge rate at any given time. It would be helpful to know to estimate likely charge time.

Overall I like the app - it’s strides above my old car - but it could be so much better.
