My new TalkTalk broadband service went live today, without a hitch. However, my first experience with TalkTalk has been through the iPhone app. Coming from a technology background, I assure you that today's generation want the information at their fingertips 24/7. Trying to use the Talk Talk app has been reminiscent of a 00's approach to customer engagement and that's when it even works.
As a start, the app has only ever shown me anything potentially relative to an account on one occasion out of 20 attempts. The rest of the time I have this fascinating empty screen which provides me no information as to what is happening. When I attempt to try and load different services within the app (such as 'My service status' or 'My account') it tries to launch a web browser and expects me to have to re-authenticate again. That is a terrible experience, trust me, truly awful. Provide me the information within the app that I need, you've already authenticated me to the app so this is secure.
Check your reviews out, on the Apple app store you're 1.6 stars out of 5. That should tell you something, not least that perhaps you should look to change whoever it is that is responsible for this failure in customer engagement.
This app is very very poor. I downloaded it in the hope it would allow me to download my bill. Nope, no chance. It lists each bill, but then fails to provide any meaningful information about it. I thought I’d be able to see call records and other useful things like that, but alas no such luck.
If the website worked as it should, that would be a help. I tried accessing it from my iPhone and iPad but when I click on the option to download the CSV call record, nothing happens. Eventually chrome prompts me “this website is trying to open the same app repeatedly. Allow or deny”.
Please fix these bugs and make this app more than just a service status checker.
Quite possibly the worst app ever made. The app mostly refuses to log me in, and when it (miraculously) does it fails to provide even the most basic functionality. It’s basically an app to nowhere. As a new TalkTalk customer, I hope this app isn’t indicative of their overall service quality.
Updated review: Supposedly the app has been updated. Sadly, it still doesn’t work. After signing in, the “We’re loading the data” message appears, and then stays there, and stays there, and so on. Nothing loads, and therefore the app still serves no purpose. A waste of time.
