VW processes need more work, poor updates
The app it’s self is fine, easy to use and intuitive.. the problem is with the actual VW factory processes. The updates provided to customers are supposed to inform them of when to expect delivery of their new vehicle. However, when the new vehicle is manufactured in Mexico and then Shipped to Germany for QA, the updates don’t account for this. You get an update when your new vehicle leaves the Mexico factory.. but the update says it will take 4 weeks to reach your local VW retailer... wrong! It takes 4 weeks to reach the German factory for QA and then another 3 / 4 weeks to reach your local VW retailer. So in reality 7 / weeks since manufacturing is complete.
Also, when the status shows as ‘in Transit’ this also doesn’t account for when your new vehicle is stationary at a port in another country, waiting to be loaded on to a ship for transport.
Update your processes VW in order to provide more accurate information to your valuable customers.
I wouldn’t waste my time with this app.
Had this app when it was launched, which is probably a few years now.
The one feature I like, being that I never take my service book with me and feel that in this day and age (digital), I really shouldn’t have to take a book with me for a stamp, when the technology is there to have my service information and repairs/maintenance work all available through a portal.
The app has the potential to be very good, however recently (being for the last 2 years), all service history, maintenance work and repairs which have been carried out at one particular dealership, do not show.
The dealership have been asked to look at this several times, with the most recent response (today), being (copied as it was sent from the VW representative).
We will not Be Help Anymore I have Update The system
So basically it’s useful until it stops doing its function and then at that point you’d get more out of talking to a rock, or a tree or something, VW dealerships won’t do anything and VW themselves (based on the other similar issues with missing service info) couldn’t give a toot either.
Shame really, because these kind of things (little as they are) will steer me in the direction of alternative manufacturers when it comes to buying my next vehicle.
This app was introduced to me during my service in June 2018. However, the information under Service History is incorrect. I have owned the car from new in 2013 and the 2016 service record is missing, showing only the MOT for 2016. Furthermore, the 2017 and 2018 services are displayed under ‘Previous Owner’.
I have been in regular contact with VW UK about this since June (now 6 months ago) to try to have the data corrected. VW keep telling me that they are trying to resolve this and that all will be corrected by ‘next week’. This has been going on for 6 months and there seems to be either a lack of technical expertise or incompetence within VW to get it sorted out. I refuse to give up but it’s starting to aggravate me now!
Why do VW roll out an App which is not fully tested and still has embedded problems that even they cannot resolve?
Up to six family members will be able to use this app with Family Sharing enabled.
