Fairly good

I’m just your average golfer who really enjoys playing golf.

When I first got the app I thought it was pretty good app but after having it for a year or so there is a few things I’m not to keen on.

When you are in the middle of nowhere having a game, you can forget putting your score in because you have to be next to the course and with poor signal it just won’t let you put in the scores at all.

I currently have a problem where I have put my score in and a friend has signed it off all good and well but once accepted it seems to delete it self when I log back onto the app. I have to resend the same score card off to a friend weeks after playing. Even tho I live miles away from the course?

Also there is some well known courses where I live but when you go to create a score card it just won’t come up with the markers but the course does. so I’m paying £40 a month to maybe get like 3 cards submitted.

This app doesn’t really work for the real world Jon-member golfer

Aside from problems connecting in rural spaces and insisting you use your at the golf club (which is frowned soon or downright banned in many clubhouse and on courses themselves) this app is far too restrictive. For something designed to attract new people to the game it’s too rooted in old-world stuffy golfer thinking.

It assumes that people will cheat and be dishonest about scores and so restricts how and when you can up load them, insisting you’re near or on the course you’ve played and can corroborate your score with an existing member of the course you’re playing. This doesn’t reflect many people’s playing patterns and as such means it’s very cumbersome to get the required criteria to upload a round.

You’d have to be pretty dedicated to use this, and I think you might as well join a course as try to use this stupid and compromised excuse by a governing body to extract money from casual players while trying to appease a clearly frustrated membership who they’re likely undercutting. Nice try but neither robust enough to deliver integrity it tries so desperately to offer nor accessible enough to be used easily in the real world of casual golf.

Make Handicap Index clearer

Nice to have the app up and running so soon so we’ll done England golf. I’m sure over time new and improved features will be added. The main thing you need to do right away is make the Current handicap index much bigger and clearer. The main reason for this app is to quickly check your current index to then work out shots you receive on the day. Currently it’s very small at the top above the score graph. At the same time the list of your most recent scores and the index you had on your last round is more visible. As a Club Secretary I have noticed players use that much clearer figure thinking it’s their current index without noticing the small correct one at the top.

Make it bigger MYEG!! It’s the main info we all need to be correctly identified and then used.

Overall though it’s great to have quick access app and Keep up the good work!
