myTuner Radio - Online Player 4+

Great app that streams radio well. Perfroms better than radio stations own website based systems, which often struggle over our countryside internet connection. This radio app keeps plaing, regardless of how tired the little web mice get in this green and pleasant land! Of course my colleague is very annoyed as I’m a radio 4 listener… previously it would buffer and drive me mad, so we’d switch to downloaded music. Now I can listen away to all of the policitcal comment, difficult drama and high brow biographies I want! Sends her to sleep constantly!

Starting with the positives, this app is very good. I can choose sport, music or podcasts with ease and choose a variety of radio stations from around the world. This saves me having to search the web, find a station and have the webpage left open in the background to listen each time.

However.... having a popup appear numerous times every day asking me to purchase the full version is annoying. Yes, I installed this app agreeing that I would get adverts, but the (quite large) popup that appears regularly is distracting and in my opinion quite unnecessary.

Overall a very good app that saves a massive amount of time in finding and listening to radio from across the world. If only the large popup was not so often, I would have awarded this a 5* review.

This is one of those apps I'd gladly pay for after using it for free, but I wont give money to an organisation or developer who's given up updating the app. Looking at the timeline it's not been updated in 2 years (at time of posting).

There are bugs (crashes on my mac every now and then) and efficiencies (smarter search - it only seems to pick up the radio station when the whole or most of the station name is typed) which need attention. Those things are fine with a bit of patience but are preventing me from buying it.

All in all, good for it being free.
