Naomi Animation 4+

I really like it, I do, it could be useful for many things, it could even be useful for 2D animation in the sense of tracing, but I have a small problem on the iPhone version, I can’t add any Keyframes? Idk if this is just me, but it’s not really good at all if you can’t do what it says it can, animate. I looked up tutorials to fox this but found literally nothing that works.

I see that this app has many features to use from, my favourite is fps because having 60 FPS is so smooth, I do see a lacking off some features, like audio and more screen effects, maybe have key frames for the camera effects. Now I’m just saying this and I hope it gets added modelling I would love to model in the app without blender or anything else basically like prisma 3d but way better, I think if you let me model and rig this app could overcome prisma 3d in a short time, I hope you read this by : erasGt

Thank you for your rating and kind words. Audio and more screen effects are features we already have in our backlog and will definitely be implemented. Providing an answer regarding modeling is more challenging, as modeling is a completely different discipline than animation. However, I cannot say "we will never do it." It is just a very time-consuming development process, and there is already a great app for modeling, in my opinion - Nomad. Therefore, we would like to focus more on animations.

Anyway, I would like to thank you for your recent activity on the Naomi Discord server, where you have been very active. I believe you can be a great asset to our closed beta testing group, if you are interested.

I tried to animate but first I couldn’t zoom in properly as the zoom in started going quite slowly I tried moving the character and it looked quite unnatural and odd. Speaking of the characters there’s not a very large selection and I cannot import anything as I don’t have a useable laptop which is the reason I am doing this on my iPad. The tutorials are of no help and the animation isn’t very easy to do please fix these problems and maybe make a character maker.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. First of all, I am sorry that your first experience didn't meet your expectations. Zooming in/out works on the same analogy as in other animation software, such as Maya or Blender. The zooming intensity depends on the distance from your current focus point. If you are too close to your focus point, the zooming intensity is small. In really short distances, you will notice just a small movement of the camera. If your camera is far from your focus point, the zooming intensity is significant. You can change your current focus point by selecting an object and double-tapping on the 'Pie' menu button. This way, you will force your camera to focus on your currently selected object. Please check our tutorial on YouTube called 'The Beginners Series - Selection #2,' especially from time 1:38, where this action is used.

I would like to help you regarding model quality, but unfortunately, Naomi is not software for creating visuals/models but it is for animating. The built-in Ready Player Me character builder is just a starting point, more for beginners who want to learn how to animate. If you are looking for different characters, you can try Mixamo characters (downloadable directly on iPad into Files and then imported into Naomi) or download a model from Sketchfab and rig it in Mixamo. If Mixamo/Sketchfab characters are not sufficient, you will have to create your own models. For A+ quality and more, I recommend using, for example, Unreal with some free models (unfortunately, desktop only).
