What a mess
After years of using this daily, I think it’s time for me to delete the app. Railboard feels like the older version and works so well !!
Take a thing that’s working and make s mess of it, seems like National Rail is an expert in it. The app is now broken at so many levels, where to begin.
Biggest time saving when you are leaving in the morning was the “recent trips” which means as a user I am not wasting time for my daily journeys. No such option now and I have to input the stations every time.
When you are planning a journey, you have to scroll endlessly to get to the travel details. And if you click on “journey details” the front screen has no new info and you have to just keep scrolling till you get to what you need !
Also, the option for “last train” is broken, I use this so often to ensure I am leaving after a get together on time for my last train. How can you release an update that is missing a working functionality!
It’s also missing “earlier trains” which is very helpful to gen you want to check how the trains have been running.
Someone should get fired for making a mockery of the app!!

Ruined by Aug2024 update
Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. This used to be such a good app, but this new one is awful. Horrible. I hate this new one, review downgraded from 5* previously. It used to take me 3 seconds to check my train, this new app is still opening after 5x as long. It’s now a proper slow search and click click click again and again every single time, every morning every evening. And it’s sooooo slow!!! So slow to even load AAAAAAAGGGHH I hate it. Hey, developers, how can I go back to the old app? Where can I download the old one?
AN UPDATE! I got the GREAT NORTHERN APP instead: it covers all trains and has the quickness and simplicity of the old National Rail; it saves favourite journeys, remembers, and all the info you need every day is there for you on the home page the second you open the app, no extra clicking and messing around

Why do they mess with a good app?
I have used this app countless times over 10 years, and while the interface was pretty outdated visually, the functionality and UI was just what I needed as a commuter that uses various routes.
A few months back developers seem to have attempted to improved the visual interface but broke everything else in the process. I tried to hold off the update until it did it automatically, and it is now either more complicated or useless and completely not intuitive.
The developers responses to the other reviews just state minor updates and encourage you to write another review directly, so I have opted to use railroad instead, as it’s is similar functionality to the old version. Wish they didn’t mess up what was a good app.
