Description
Net Status lets you get a fast glimpse of what is happening now with your hosts, routers and other network devices connected to the Internet or LAN.
The tool checks network services your hosts run for availability and presents the information in a convenient way in order to speed up the diagnostics of network problems. With Net Status you can quickly and easily determine which hosts and services are down from your monitoring list.
Net Status employs asynchronous algorithms that allow Net Status to operate really fast. Fractions of a second are needed to check a host with quite a number of running services. Even problematic hosts won't slow down the check process for a time much longer than a timeout you specify.

A must for all network admins
Don't be put off by the non-standard UI, it's actually beautifully designed, great use of colour to denote server health, and good use of space.
Anyway enough about how pretty this app is, it has functionality to rival some of the best server monitoring tools built for desktop- no kidding.
Ability to define your own services, super quick and slick interface, supports multiple groups of servers so you can monitor different sets of services or even sets of servers on different premises, email reports... just check the advertised spec!
And all for what - 59p? You have to be kidding. It's easily worth 20 quid when you consider what it offers.
App is reliable and solid.
Very happy to have discovered it.

Needs to alert on failed service
I like the interface and how you configure the services to monitor, nice and intuitive.
However, the app says “Net Status - Server Monitor”, but currently only the first part is true as it is not running all the time monitoring the servers.
For this app to be useful it needs to run in the background, checking the servers you’ve configured every 10 minutes (configurable duration) and then alerting you with a phone alarm when a service fails.
When the “Monitor Server” functionality is added I will upgrade this review to 5 star.

This is awesome - being able to quickly check basic status of all my servers is a dream! I can be in a meeting and have a customer ask if there is something wrong with their server and instantly check there and then to see if there is a problem our end. AWESOME WIN!
My only minor gripe: The app icon gets ugly black borders when it's placed in a folder (yeah, I told you it was a *minor* gripe).
