A very useful tool, IF you know how to use it

I’ve been involved in IT for around 40 years(well before the term was invented), but have been retired since 2018). I also have a bespoke domain hosted on lesser well known ISPs. So, when I’ve had the occasional loss of service, this tool lets me do some preliminary diagnosis for myself: ping the server and see if it responds, try traceroute and see if an intermediate connection is an issue, try a dns query to see if an ip address change hasn’t yet rippled across the wider internet…Hard core experts would obviously just use the command line prompt, but a GUI is much more user friendly, especially for novices. This means that if I need to contact tech support, I can normally bypass scripted responses like “have you switched it on and off again?” and be put in touch with the people that “know stuff” and might be able to fix it.

Firstly let me say I hope you never need this. When you do need to troubleshoot a network issue, I honestly wouldn’t bother looking further. It helped me prove to my isp that my network issues were nothing to do with devices, wireless or wired, and the issue was that my router kept rebooting when net strength dipped. I had a mate in similar position who recommended it to me. He also deemed it worthy of paying for. It saved far more than its meagre cost and truly delivers. Sure I could have done the same with net tools on a Linux box, but this is a tool I always have with me in case a friend or family member asks for help. Like the saying the best camera is the one with you, this is of the same ilk. Just have to see if my payment will allow it to install my MacBook as well

Network Analyzer Pro is an impressively comprehensive and well-presented app. It provides a clear overview of the devices on my home network, including their IP addresses, together with useful diagnostic tools such as Ping. It also allows you to drill down and uncover a considerable amount of detailed information.I recently had a problem with a networked device that controls other equipment. Using Network Analyzer Pro on my phone, I was able to examine the entire network, identify the source of the problem and fix it. That experience alone demonstrated just how practical and capable this app is. Thoroughly deserving of five stars.P

Very helpful in finding network issues

Up to iOS 10 at least this has been extremely helpful in diagnosing and investigating networking problems. The speed test is a useful tool but the best capability is to see exactly what is attached to a network and to be able to ping devices to check they are responding. It is very frustrating that from iOS 11 it won't be able to read MAC addresses as this has been one of its most useful features.

The speed test is a useful tool but the best capability is to see exactly what is attached to a network and to be able to ping devices to check they are responding. It is very frustrating that from iOS 11 it won't be able to read MAC addresses as this has been one of its most useful features.
