HOW TO’S
To use the New Relic iOS app you must log in with your existing New Relic credentials. All New Relic accounts associated with this user will automatically appear inside the app.
Set-up push notifications for Alerts customers
* You can choose your push notification settings individually for each application
* Log in into your New Relic account from a web browser
* Click on Alerts
* Click on Notification channels
* Make sure your USER is added as a notification channel
* Then choose Alert policy you wish to be added to
* Add your USER to that notification channel for the policy
Adding New Users
* Tap on your Account name
* Tap on ‘ADD USER’ on the bottom
* You will be taken back to the login screen
* Log in like you normally would with a new email
What’s New

* Adds ability to logout of a user
* Fixes sorting issue in dashboard table visualizations
* Fixes issue where you could not select a custom time range, if default was selected
Ratings and Reviews
Good overview but not complete yet
Good:
* Nice layout
* Decent level of drill down
* (Some) time filtering
Bad:
* Buggy (I'm on an iPad Air 2)
- keeps throwing me out and making me login again
- can't select 3 months view or a custom date range due to the menu not being long enough
- doesn't seem to auto refresh
* no easy way to refresh the app view
* no way to configure anything - you need to go back to the web ui
Some users have complained it doesn't do failure alters very well. I can't verify that. However, I'd suggest using Nagios or similar in conjunction with new relic anyway. For a start, I'd want SMS alerts on major outages rather than iOS or email anyway - but perhaps that's just me. New relic is much more useful for looking at patterns in your traffic and server responses - although they seem to be working towards being a fully end to end solution.
App Improving but reliability a concern
New Relic has an impressive array of information it can provide on your platform - and it’s supposed to be “reAssuringly expensive” - and as such is a significant chunk of our infrastructure costs - so it’s disappointing that dashboards on the wider platform are often unavailable, or blank. This is something reported by many users and I hope they can turn the corner on this, as it undoes what should be a great tool.
I’m glad they’ve been updating this app to let you access more (although it’s not quite as sexy as the older insights app). Recently this app was updated to finally show complex widgets like desktop (as a paying customer - thanks) but this work is unfortunately undone by carrying over the long-standing desktop bug that mixes up data colours so things are mislabelled and wrong - so I still can’t use this app in the boardroom (the same for desktop).
I encourage the team to double down on things like above - I want to love the platform and get real value from it (as I’m constantly aware that it’s expensive ). There should be no bugs when displaying data - labels should be correct and data trends should reliably move the correct direction (often thrown by this too)

App No Longer Working (May 2024)
App crashes on startup since last week (May 2024), an uninstall and reinstall doesn’t fix.
Feedback for New Relic on device limits too: A 3 device limit is a total joke in 2024, why? If I wanted to account share then I already could with three devices, does allowing a fourth or fifth really break your commercial model?!
I have 5 devices - a phone, an ipad, a work pc, 2 work laptops (Mac & PC).
