An excellent RSS reader

Works well, really nice design, good customisation options!! Looks like it was made by Apple.

Some features are however missed from the developer’s other RSS reader (Leaf). It would be nice if this app and Leaf were combined. I’ve also encountered a few glitches, such as the name of one of my Feedly categories appearing blank, requiring me to rename the category to fix it. I’d also like an easy way to hide and show the app. These are really just nitpicks though; this is still a really good RSS reader.

Works well with Feedly - Update: UNINSTALLED

Sits nicely on the left side of my desktop and syncs well with my Feedly account which is already subscribed to hundreds of feeds. The Glassy colour scheme is beautifully minimal, it’s not in your face, the stories are the focus. Works well with notifications. Greeat reading pane again putting content, not app chrome, at the forefront.

Only issue I had was when it needed to “update its database”, as it wouldn’t launch after that no matter how many times I tried. This must be a known issue though as the developer has provided a way to reset to factory settings (holding ALT down as it starts up), as my subscriptions are saved in Feedly, the reset wasn’t too much of an issue, just needed to tweak UI setting back to my preference. Overall, highly recommended.

*** UPDATE ***: This need to “update its database” is happening every couple fo days. It then crashes and I must do a factory reset. No patience for this any longer. Its a shame, but it’s uninstall time.

Developer Response ,

Really sorry for the issue. It would be great if you could contact us so we were able to give you further support in the issue: http://rockysandstudio.com/contact

Very good. But only 4 stars…?

Has everything I want except missing some things who’s omissions I don’t understand…. no minimise button, c’mon devs, you know how fussy us Mac geeks are, we just love our minimise buttons, not even for the dock let alone the menu bar, and, can’t close a window feed from the bar once it’s open !!! PLEASE DEVS, add the ability to add to menu bar and at the very least the standard buttons, have to uninstall for these reasons only ! Otherwise, perfecto !
