Description
The NICEIC Cert App allows you, as a registered NICEIC & ELECSA contractor the quick and easy way to create your 18th Edition Certificates either on site or on the road. The NICEIC Cert App has been designed to support you in completing your electrical certification quickly, easily and in a compliant manner. Create and edit your certificates or reports on your iPad – capturing key information from the job including test results, notes and imagery.
The App syncs with your existing online certification account system securely, storing information securely and allowing you to complete the certificate or report on your desktop when you are back in the office.
The NICEIC Cert App has been designed and built to be initiative and easy to navigate – allowing you to move around the certificate seamlessly as you update the various sections while you work. The App also support dark mode, so now you have more control to set the display to your liking.

This app fell at the first and second hurdles so I gave up and resorted to the online certification via my browser.
1)The postcode field does not allow selection of the actual address therefore the address has to be entered manually which is both tedious and open to address errors which will ultimately lead to part P notification errors...
2)The job description field is limited in characters and therefore wouldn’t allow me to adequately describe the works I was trying to certify!
The NICEIC online certification has the same problem with limited fields but at least with that system you can expand the description field using a continuation sheet...
3)I also noted that certificates on the NICEIC Online Certification can be seen in a list in this app but cannot be opened or viewed or the PDF downloaded and therefore previous info for a client or installation cannot be viewed or referenced...
Just dreadful
Considering how much the NICEIC charge to produce a certificate and being the most respected electrical contracting body you’d have thought they would be able to produce a decent app.
The app is riddled with issues and a year + on there has been no improvements. It is a struggle to even log into your account with countless crashes before hand and if you do manage to get further than that make sure you regularly save any work as the app will intermittently crash and loose all your work. Various fields will not let you fill them out correctly and you have to then sync with you desktop to finish the cert anyway.
There are so many fields that could be automatically filled to make the testing easier and simpler for the electrician but this appears to have not even been thought about by the developer.
Do not use
First time use, hours of work & everything lost. Called NICEIC who know there are problems and suggested using the online version but this only works with constant internet connectivity. Back to paper and pen. This should be removed from the App Store.
