Description

Need to use Facebook but get distracted by the newsfeed, recommended posts, etc.? Use "No Distractions" for Facebook!

"No Distractions" for Facebook is a Safari extension that makes the layout of Facebook less distracting:

On the home page, it removes the posting prompt, stories, newsfeed, sidebar, sponsored posts. It also removes the 'Gaming' link in the menu.

This gives you a minimalistic Facebook experience, which makes it easier to control how you use the site.

PLEASE NOTE that the extension currently isn't customisable - so if the newsfeed is an essential feature for you to have when you visit Facebook in Safari, this extension probably won't be helpful for you.

This extension is open source - you can find the source code at https://github.com/ulyngs/open-source-no-distractions-for-fb

What’s New

Version 2.2

Hi all, this update also hides the 'Watch' link in the top menu bar. It also fixes a bug that caused sponsored content to sometimes still appear. Enjoy! :)

As always, the extension is open source - find the source code and suggest changes or flag bugs at https://github.com/ulyngs/open-source-no-distractions-for-fb

Misleading...

The description states that you can take control over what you need to do on Facebook.

I bought this assuming [from the description] that I could control which content I could and could not see.....this is not the case!

For £0.99, I won't request a refund.
I would instead request that the developer changes the description to reflect what the app does actually do...which is simply block everything whithout being able to control which parts you need to see.

Developer Response ,

Thanks for flagging this - I did not realise the description could be misleading! I have updated the store description to be more upfront that the app (in its current form) is simply a Safari extension which hides specific distracting elements on Facebook.

(For future versions, I will consider ways to give the user control over which specific elements should be hidden.)
