No Thanks app 4+

Unfortunately I didn’t use the app when I bought some boxed dates from a local greengrocer where I usually buy Tunisian dates. The boxes used to be labelled with the country of origin, but not the one I bought recently. The box had no company information either. No producer or importer.
The greengrocer’s label above the dates said Tunisian so I bought them.
I scanned the barcode at home with this app and it told me they were from Israel. I clicked the “proof” button and it took me to an Israeli company website. As they didn’t show this particular box on their website, I searched further and indeed found that you can buy them online in the UK and they are proudly marked as from Israel.
I won’t be going shopping without this app now and I’m also going to let the greengrocer he has incorrect information displayed, in case he has been misled by his supplier.

I downloaded this app as I was fed up of having to scroll through lists of products that are unethical. I have been using this app for months now and the barcode scanner option is a complete game changer! You can also search a list if you don’t have the product infront of you.

Once you scan or choose a product from the list, it will tell you whether they are on the list or not with a link to the proof so you can make up your own mind. They also have an easy to use function where you can upload information on a product you think should be on the list. The app is regularly updated to include more products and to fix any bugs.

I highly recommend using this app, it’s so user friendly and makes shopping so much easier now. Thank you to the developers who put this app together!

It’s brilliant app, makes it convenient for us to check the products.
Though, I wonder how committed they are to BDS movement; because they have quite a longer boycott list and some of the brands doesn’t make sense for boycott.
Like, Ben&Jerry’s is, even though their distribution rights bought by Unilever, the brand owners are the first ones to react against Israel and there is an ongoing lawsuit about their products being sold in Israel(they don’t want to buy Unilever makes them to)
I just don’t want to get/see other people getting boycott fatigue. I want out efforts reach somewhere.
