Vastly improved and a joy to use
I can recall this app from a few years ago when I used to be commuting on Northern many days of each week - and it was horrible and I was glad when I didn’t have to catch the train each day because that meant not having to use this (deleted) app.
Imagine my surprise that now I am a pensioner and can have a railcard I should download this app thinking OMG please no not that (deleted) thing again and only to find everything about its been changed and its a joy to use - well done Northern and well done the developers.
Best UK Rail Operator App
By far the most efficient rail operator app for purchasing flexi season tickets. The only operator I can find that allows flexi season tickets to be purchased via the app and stored on the mobile app itself. Every other operator requires one of the new smart cards when purchasing flexi season tickets. And I use this app despite being for a West Midlands Trains flexi commute. Works a treat and really convenient app better than the rest. Plus the addition of Apple Pay works for me too. Really good work put in here on the development of this app and delighted to write a review in respect of it.
Northern Rail App
The BEST train-Rail app. This app displays in ‘real-time’. If your connecting train is late etc. it even offers you alternative trains for your final destination. Also, this app lets you view in ‘real-time’ the progress of your connecting train. Easy interface to book your ticket either via e-ticket from your smartphone or ticket collection at your departing station. 10/10 for ease of use.
