Crashes under pressure of multiple bookings
Two months ago I started doing pilates which is very popular. I found I needed to book through the App at precisely 7 a.m. to get into a class. Trouble is: everyone else is doing the same so often the page for the date 8 days hence freezes and goes blank. Worse still, all the date pages may freeze and an “unauthorized:” message flashes briefly across the screen. When this happens the only solution is to deinstalled and then reinstall the App. By the time I’ve done this, the class is full! Other class members report the same problem. Reception staff confirm they have LOADS of complaints about this.
Really, Nuffield! Can’t you do better and design a system whereby twenty odd individuals can use an interactive page at the same time?
App is ok, missing from features
The app is OK, calendar integration is useful, but overall app is missing a few key features...
The app doesn’t tell you what position on the waitlist you are after booking. This feature was a part of the old Virgin Active app but has never made it in to the Nuffield app for some reason.
The waitlist size needs to be increased to account for the large number of bookings and subsequent cancellations that have been happening during covid.
Class attendance history would be useful, particularly as the clubs sometimes use this information to ‘ban’ members from booking classes if they regularly don’t attend. If members could see this information they could challenge attendance discrepancies.
Class notifications and reminders coming directly from the app would be useful - currently rely on emails to get notified of changes such as moving off the waitlist, class cancellations.
App could be expanded to be more than just Bookings.. eg manage membership/payment information, see latest news or important information from the club, a messaging function to message the club, PT bookings, swim class booking. Including PT and swim class booking within the app would provide an easier way for members to sign up to these services.
Accidental cancellation of class due to way phone held
App ok overall but as others have said would be useful to know position on wait list after joining, also a confirm button to cancel a class would be extremely useful, as have accidentally cancelled a class when I didn’t want to just due to the way I’ve held my phone! Tried to retrieve but could only get on waitlist, not an issue if class unpopular but for those that get booked up fast this is a major issue as no option to confirm/unconfirmed cancellation once accidentally pressed. Now ended up on wait list and probably no class due to its popularity.....
