Shelly Cloud is the companion mobile app of all Shelly home automation devices - WiFi relay switches, plugs, sockets, bulbs, sensors, IR blasters, etc.
Shelly Cloud allows you to control and monitor all your Shelly devices remotely.

Every device has:
Embedded Web server
WiFi control and connectivity
HTTP and/or UDP protocol commands

With the Shelly devices installed and registered in your app account you can:
- Connect to an existing WiFi network or use in Access Point mode locally.
- Manage multiple devices with individual settings.
- Build a complex automation solution aimed at energy and operational efficiency.
- Configure how devices operate.
- Monitor the status, as well as the current and past electrical power consumption of the electrical circuit(s) and loads.
- Configure custom schedules to automatically turn devices on/off.
- Define and personalise rooms where the Shelly devices are positioned.
- Find easy instructions for device inclusion.

Rubbish

Just like other reviewers I am on my umpteenth download of the app which is taking ages “loading.” App keeps throwing me out and then will not recognise my password(apparently I’m not to use any special characters).

When I do manage to log in I can see my device has been installed but says it is offline. I raised a “support ticket” only for them to get bored or go home dealing with my issue and end the conversation.

The user interface is rubbish and not at all intuitive. It’s a shame as their products are let down by a really terrible App and customer support.

Update in response to Developer’s trite comment below: I have already raised a support ticket as stated in the review. I am now on my 6th day of “support” and the device is still showing as off-line in the App. I don’t think they know or care what the problem is.

I asked for a refund but they are now ghosting me.

connect using browser first and persevere

OK i agree with others that i was not able to set the devices up with the app but instead had success using a browser first then added them to the app afterwards and now seem to be working well

process that worked for me
press button on device to get led flashing
connect to device’s wifi network using browser
enter wifi details of intended wifi network into device settings page (client mode)
reconnect to device using browser - find the IP address assigned by your router or mesh using that device’s settings page or app
rename shelly device something memorable in router device app
use router app/settings to reserve static IP address for shelly device (i did not need to tick the static IP box in the device settings as well)
change settings login details in device settings browser page for security
switch phone to same wifi network as shelly device and open shelly app and refresh and then you can add device - then should work ok after that in app
NB may need to update firmware in browser or app
NB may need to press device button to get LED flashing at any stage if goes off and not connecting, and keep refreshing app

Doesn’t work

It took several attempts to register and log in to the app. Using it with the rgbw2 led controller and it worked well the first time. Then it refused to load unless I reset my iPad, after which it operated well until the app was closed - back to resetting iPad. I then deleted the app and reloaded it. Now I can’t log into my account nor will it allow me to send a request to reset my password.
