This App is A crock of ...
Newsflash* computers are supposed to make life easier. This app either requires you to photograph the card number each time you want the balance or type in the cvs number each time you need the balance. The problem is photographing is a gimmick as the number is barely legible to the human eye never mind a camera because of the ridiculous pattern used as the background on the card, so is unreliable. I thought I’d therefore use the manual method and type in the long card number and cvs once and then the app would ‘remembered’ it so it would just require the selection of the ‘manual balance’ button. No chance. The app forgets the numbers if you ever close the app so you have to type the numbers in again, ffs. BTW, if you don’t give the app access to the camera because using the camera is a rubbish idea the app nags you that you haven’t given it access. Also you have to know the balance in case your transaction exceeds the balance as the transaction will fail, which makes wanting to use these cards for part payment a trial in itself. All this on top of the fact that these cards are a dumb idea in the first place. Either use cash or debit or credit cards which are acceptable everywhere instead.
The One4all app is getting better! It was unusable when I first started using it, kept crashing, not many useful features. Now it is more stable and there are some very useful features being added. I like that I can now save cards in the app and they show the balance in a badge on the card, without me having to prompt anything. Before you had to enter your card number every time and you would receive a text with your current balance. You can also add cards to Apple Pay through this app. I hope they will bring some other features, like the ability to remove cards from the app. It’s such a shame I can’t top up the plastic cards, a waste of materials having to order new cards every time. Luckily, I can order e-gift cards, so at least that’s something. I also wish more of the retailers on their database would accept online payments, but there are so many that only allow you to use One4all in store only ☹️.
Needs serious improvement
Side-note about company: I think it’s wrong that the company take money off your card for every month it’s not spent up after 18 months. There is already an expiry date and the card has already been paid for so it’s not their money to take.
It amazing to me that after this many bad reviews the company still hasn’t tried to make any improvements.
This app has severely flaws and very few pros. To log in, it texts you a verification pin, even though the account is already password protected. For people like me who have really bad signal, this is extremely annoying. What’s the point in having a password?
Once entering the app you should be able to store all your gift cards, however the app will not allow me to add any and there’s no help function to sort this out.
Checking the card balance is also tricky as some cards won’t scan and there’s no manual option. When it does scan the balance is then text to you which, again, is annoying when you have poor signal, and takes longer than needed.
Another annoyance is that all the text and buttons don’t fit on the screen and the settings consists only of a log out option. There is no way to ask for help or report a problem. Also, where to spend and other useful information isn’t even on the app and has to be viewed on the site anyway.
Overall, I prefer the old method of checking balances manually on the website as this was a lot less time consuming and difficult.
