Set financial goals and get personalised financial advice on how to achieve them. Manage your money with a budget planner and get practical money tips to reach your financial goals with the OpenMoney app. So, whether you want to monitor and pay off your debt or start saving to buy a home, the OpenMoney app can help you reach your money goals.

OpenMoney are dedicated to helping people with their money, and we believe money advice should be for everyone. We believe that small habits can make big differences. Whatever you want to do, getting organised with your money is the best first step.

How it works:

1. Select your goal and decide how much you want to save. Choose from:
• Clear my debts
• Save for a house
• Save to invest
• Save for something
2. Connect all your accounts, so you can see all of your financial accounts in one place. You can connect your current accounts, savings, credit cards, pensions, investments and more.
3. Get free advice from the experts. If you’re in debt, we’ll advise you the best way to get out of debt after getting to know your current money situation.

After setting your financial goals and connecting your accounts, you can start to manage your money with our handy money management tools. These include:

Regular payments:
Tell us about your bills and subscriptions, so that you don’t get caught out by unexpected payments. We keep you in the loop before they come out of any of your accounts. Once we know your regular payments, you can build a budget for all your other expenses like entertainment, groceries and travel. Anything left over, you can save towards your goal.

Budget management:
Set a budget to start putting money away each month towards your goal. You can get as specific as you’d like with your budgets, with a range of categories to choose from. We update you on how your budgeting is going, and let you know if you’re over budget.

Spending analysis:
Our spending tracker allows you to view your spending breakdown of recent purchases by category or merchant. Filter by time period to see how your spending habits have changed over time. Having sight of where you spend money is a great way to see where you can cut back and start saving money.

If you’re an investor with OpenMoney:
Stay up to date with the performance of your OpenMoney investments, with in-app live performance updates. You can check the current value and % performance of your investments such as your pension, ISA or General Investment Account.

Coming soon:

Goal tracking:
Know exactly how long it will take for you to reach your chosen goal in weeks, days and months as we keep you updated with how your progress is going. We can also tell you how changing your habits can help you reach your goals sooner.

Our app gets you on the right track to achieving your goal, but once you’ve achieved it, we’re here to make sure the money you’ve saved goes further. We help people become investors and homeowners with our advice-led approach to money. We’re ready when you are for your next step.

Detailed Investment Analysis:
• Full breakdown of your performance over 1 month/3 months/12 months.
• Graphs and charts to visually see how your investments have performed over time.

When investing, your capital is at risk. The value of your investments may go down as well as up.

Login Issues

The main issue with the app is the login stops working after a few hours. The Face ID becomes slow then it endlessly asks to login via pin. Force closing means logging back in and setting a pin. This then repeats the same issue a few hours later.

The rest of the app is rather basic with little functionality. There doesn’t seem to be any explanation as to why recurring payments are split into subscriptions and bills.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for taking the time to feedback. We are concerned about your experience with Face ID, and will be looking to upgrade our Face ID implementation within the next few months. The purpose of splitting recurring payments into bills and subscriptions is so app users know which ones they can cancel to save money, and what they can’t such as council tax. We will look to improve how this is explained in the app.

Thanks again for your feedback,
The OpenMoney team

What a pile of rubbish this is. I can’t even log in. Does anyone actually test your apps?
I’m not getting an error message, just won’t let me move off the log in screen, and the keyboard doesn’t display properly, which really doesn’t fill me with confidence

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your feedback. We are really sorry you’ve been experiencing issues with the app crashing. We know this is frustrating and will be investigating this urgently.
Thanks again,
The OpenMoney team.

Worse than the last app!

This app is WORSE than the previous app. They have got to be joking.

All I want an app to easily show me the value of my ISA, the fees I've paid, and how much it's appreciated.

Their last app made this really difficult - it required 4 clicks to show the value and it didn't show the appreciation; you had to calculate it yourself.

Your new app IS WORSE!!! How did they manage that? It doesn't show you the fees or the appreciation, just the total value. Useless.

Hi Rob,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re really sorry and understand your frustration. We have been exploring how to provide investment customers with a clearer and shorter pathway to the information they need. We also have some updates coming soon to our app to add more functionality to the investment section – this should launch in the next 2 weeks.

Thanks again for your feedback, the OpenMoney team.
