PaceGrid: Run & Cycle Tracker
GPS, Heart Rate & Training
Free · In-App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Track your next run or ride, connect a Bluetooth heart-rate strap, and see pace, splits and training load together. Your workout, with useful context.
Make your next run or ride easier to understand. PaceGrid brings GPS recording, routes, heart rate and training history together on iPhone and Apple Watch.
RECORD YOUR WORKOUT
Follow distance, pace, time and splits. Review your route and elevation afterwards, or record from Apple Watch without carrying your phone.
CONNECT YOUR HEART RATE
Pair a compatible Bluetooth heart-rate strap from the Record screen. PaceGrid uses fresh strap readings during recording and makes connection problems clear. Supported smart rings add heart-rate, sleep and recovery data. Device features vary by model.
SEE THE BIGGER PICTURE
Explore training load, heart-rate zones, workout trends and recovery estimates. These estimates help you interpret your history; they do not diagnose conditions or guarantee injury prevention.
PLAN AND SHARE
Save routes, use offline maps, export GPX files and optionally sync with Strava. Apple Health integration is optional. You choose which connected services receive your data.
TRY THE FULL APP
Try all features for 7 days. Basic recording remains free afterwards, or unlock the full app with one purchase. No subscription.

please fix. Swapped to Runance instead.
please fix. Swapped to Runance instead.
• Bluetooth heart-rate straps now connect from the Record screen. Your strap can finally join the workout.
• Fresh strap readings take priority; disconnected or stale readings stop pretending to be live.
• Pairing, reconnecting and forgetting sensors now give clearer feedback.
• The welcome screen explains the 7-day trial and basic recording more clearly.

A focused reliability update:
- Completed workouts and successful Strava imports now finish more smoothly.
- Activity lists, imported-file handling, StoreKit updates and sync queuing are safer under concurrency.
- General stability and polish throughout the app.
1.1.6 29 Aug
• No shiny new features this time. This is a housekeeping release — brooms, screwdrivers, the works.
• Everything under the hood got a once-over so future updates land smoothly.
• If you notice absolutely nothing different, that's a ten out of ten from us.
1.1.5 10 Jul
What's new in 1.1.4
• Watch workouts could vanish silently if saving failed. The watch now tells you and lets you retry — your long run is no longer a trust exercise.
• Buying Pro on your phone now unlocks the watch immediately. Previously it required a relaunch ritual we never documented because we didn't know about it either.
• Long mid-run pauses (coffee counts as training) no longer corrupt the recorded track.
• Importing a Strava archive doesn't freeze the app anymore — it now shows actual progress instead of pretending nothing is happening.
• Discarding a workout now asks first. One stray tap used to delete an hour of effort. We're sorry.
• The paywall now visibly reacts when you buy or restore. Revolutionary, we know.
1.1.4 7 Jul
Smart ring sleep, fixed properly:
• Your ring insisted you went to bed at 9pm. You didn't. PaceGrid now records your real bed and wake times instead of a polite fiction.
• Redesigned sleep view — a proper hypnogram with stages, a sleep score, and a stage breakdown that finally looks like sleep.
• Two rings? PaceGrid now labels which ring recorded what, so your R09 and R12 stop taking credit for each other's nights.
• Deep and light sleep were quietly swapped behind the scenes. Un-swapped.
All on your device, as always.
1.1.3 2 Jul
Smart-ring support lands in PaceGrid.
• Heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, HRV and skin temperature now show on the Device tab all day — no "measure" button required.
• Sleep got serious: a finger-scrubbable hypnogram with real clock times, a sleep score, stage breakdown and a 7-night trend.
• Injury-Guard now warns you about heat before a run, powered by the Cloudmesh weather network.
• Those heart-rate and blood-oxygen tiles used to show this morning's reading and call it 'now.' They now jump to your latest reading the moment you open the app.
• A new sleep calendar lets you flip back to any earlier night, not just the last seven.
• And the fix we'll pretend wasn't needed: the Sleep screen used to show a single night and call it 'your history.' It now reads your Apple Watch nights too, so past nights actually fill in.
• Sleep with the ring instead of your Watch? Those nights now save to Apple Health too — only when the Watch didn't already log them. The Watch still wins when you wear it; we know our place.
1.1.2 1 Jul
Your smart ring finally gets the spotlight:
• A dedicated Device tab — your ring is no longer buried in Settings like it owed us money.
• Temperature works! We taught PaceGrid to read it straight off the ring (a proud 36.7°C).
• All-day blood-oxygen, stress and HRV monitoring are now toggles YOU control, so your battery stays yours.
• Change a setting in one app and the ring tells the other app the truth — no more arguing between apps.
• Injury Guard now warns you when it's too hot to train outdoors, using the Cloudmesh weather network.
• Profile moved to a tidy corner button to make room. It's happy there.
Every new screen is fully translated. Thanks for running with us.
1.1.1 28 Jun
Your runs have a new teammate: smart rings.
• Pair an affordable smart ring right inside PaceGrid — no extra app, no account. It reads your heart rate and blood oxygen, and tracks your sleep on its own.
• New Sleep view: stages, efficiency, and plain-language insights grounded in published sleep science.
• A new on-device readout that reflects your training back to you — it stays on your phone and never tells you what to do.
• Fixed a Record-screen glitch where the selected sport's ring got trimmed by the map, plus other polish.
1.1.0 27 Jun
PaceGrid 1.0.16 - fixing the things we hoped you wouldn't spot:
- New 7-day free trial: take every Pro analytic for a spin before you decide. No account, no catch.
- Miles and feet now apply EVERYWHERE. If you run imperial, your list, splits, trends, routes and share cards no longer wander off to kilometres mid-run.
- A few screens were still showing English to everyone and quietly using our old codename. They've been sent back to language school - all 8 languages are covered now.
- Redesigned share cards and route posters: right name, right units, and a QR code so a friend can grab PaceGrid in one scan.
- The Training menu used to resize itself every time you touched it. It now sits still, and charts no longer dangle off the bottom of the screen.
- Recording zooms to where you actually are instead of showing you the entire globe.
- Changing the app language no longer boots you back to the first tab.
- Shoe and bike mileage tracking is, finally, reachable from Settings.
- Larger text sizes now actually enlarge the text. Revolutionary.
1.0.16 20 Jun
• Family Sharing has arrived. Buy PaceGrid Pro once and your whole family is in — because charging everyone under your roof for the same one-time purchase felt a little too Strava, and we pinky-promised never to be that.
• Sturdier Apple Watch sync. Finished a run while your phone was off having a lie-down? It now waits patiently and delivers itself the second the two reconnect — and we evicted the gremlin that occasionally imported the same run twice.
• A heap of under-the-hood groundwork so the next wave of features slots in cleanly. You won't notice it — which is exactly how good plumbing should feel.
1.0.15 19 Jun
A quick tune-up pit stop:
• Fixed a bug where one split time wandered in late, still catching its breath, while the others had already cooled down.
• Tightened things up on phone and wrist so the numbers keep pace with your legs.
• Swept out a little lint that had been jogging along behind the scenes.
Same on-device runs, no account, no subscription. Pay once, train forever.
1.0.14 11 Jun
• GPS no longer goes on strike if you pause and walk to a coffee shop — recording picks right back up wherever you resume.
• Average pace now does actual math during your run, not just after it.
• Your workout survives a crash or a dead battery — we save as you go now.
• Watch fixes: settings finally sync from your phone, treadmill runs save their distance, and Strava uploads don't quietly give up anymore.
• Finished workouts now land in Apple Health, like we always promised.
• The Apple Watch app now actually comes with the app. It existed before — just nowhere you could get it.
1.0.13 10 Jun
Behind-the-scenes polish and a tidy-up.
1.0.12 9 Jun
PaceGrid now speaks your language.
• The entire app — every screen, button, and slightly judgmental recovery tip — is now in French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Hindi. Pick yours in Settings → App Language, or let it follow your phone.
• Recovery advice got a copy editor. Same science, cleaner sentences.
• Brand-new screenshots that show the real app. Revolutionary concept, we know.
1.0.11 7 Jun
Turns out your Apple Watch had selective amnesia.
• Fixed: watch workouts now actually record your heart rate and calories. Previously the watch dutifully collected them and then dramatically threw them away. We've had a stern word with it.
• Indoor workouts are no longer secretly filed as "outdoor." Your treadmill is not, it turns out, a scenic mountain trail.
• Saved activities now carry the heart-rate data they should have had all along.
Go sweat. It's paying attention now.
1.0.10 29 May
What's new in 1.0.9
• Search-listing tidy: the subtitle promised "Cycling, Hiking, Heart Rate" — and the keyword field had none of those words. The App Store noticed. Cyclists, hikers, and heart-rate-zone users can now actually find the app by searching for what it does. Also slipped in "no subscription" because that's the real wedge against the subscription-locked alternatives.
1.0.9 12 May
What's new in 1.0.8
• Added a small review prompt that fires after you finish a workout (the right "happy moment" for a tracker). Throttled with a 3-day grace period and a 60-day cooldown so it never gets in the way of a session.
1.0.8 8 May
Smoothed a few hills. Cadence remains exactly as merciful as last time.
Maps load quicker. Splits read cleaner. Rest day still recommended.
1.0.7 8 May
Faster splits in the app. No promises about your splits. Smoother pace charts, and we fixed a bug where 'Trail' refused to admit it was raining.
