I’ve only just downloaded this but I’ve been looking for an app like it for ages - specifically one that treats my notes as books where I can flip through the pages and have different books for different things. I find having things in lists and files just makes me feel like I have a stack of loose papers so the visualisation really goes a long way to making my thoughts feel collected. The free version is pretty basic and although the formatting is nice a lot is locked so overall you’d have more flexibility on apple notes, which is what I’ve used up until this point. However I think the subscription cost (I think it was £8.99 for a year) is well worth it as I’d easily spend this on a year’s diary (let alone any additional journals I might buy) so really I’m just exchanging one yearly cost for another. Excited to try some of the free activity books. Really excited to keep using.

I’m an avid user of this app love love love it. I would have given it a 5 out of five because it’s genuinely is such a great app however it’s recently switched to a subscription based provider. Which is so disappointing 4.99 a week to almost £100 a year is ridiculous. This is not realistic at all and I hate it and am honestly so disappointed that the committee or developers have switched it to a subscription based app. This is going to deter not just me but so many users who love your app and use it for the freedom it brings. Used to use this app every day as a creative outlet and now I’m just gonna have to find another one because as a creative who has money to spend £100 a year. People complain about Adobe which is also just ridiculous so why would you follow such a path? I am genuinely so sad because this was such a good app and now I feel like this has killed it. Plus realistically the majority of people who are using your app were using it because it was free now you’re not gonna get as many people paying to use the app and even if you are the traction that you’re going to get compared to the traction used to get normally is going to decreased significantly. I understand that there was a decision was made that required this but 99+ a year is literally daylight robbery. Unfortunately, I WILL have to find another app because I’m can and will not be paying for this. If you wanted people to pay for it you should’ve made the app subscription based in the first place sorry not sorry.

Think about it. Every app wants a subscription nowadays? It’s complete madness. Why don’t you ask your customers. We want to own stuff. Done and dusted. Not have money leeched from our accounts all the time. You must be losing sales. Look - just pluck a reasonable figure from the air and charge me to own the app. Make me pay for significant upgrades if you like but subs are a complete turn off. Some of my paid apps have cost quite a lot - but I appreciate ownership.Having said all that Paper is very well designed and the pen works beautifully. Flipping through the notebook is simple and fun. You’ve done a great job. I’d love to give you some money for it - but not on a time limited basis.Thanks for your courteous feedback. I have been using the free version of this app for some months now. It works so well for many things. And for free no one could complain. Please endeavour to find a way of giving you money for your app that doesn’t involve subscriptions. If you did this you would be well ahead of the game. What’s the evidence that subscription models produce more revenue than an optional purchase/subscription model?
