Paprika Recipe Manager 3 4+

I have been using Paprika for a few years now to store personal and favourite recipes. It really is the most convenient way to manage recipes in a way that makes them accessible on all my devices and on my grown up daughter’s too. Some people complain about the cost of upgrades. Well first of all no one forces you to upgrade and secondly, the upgrade fees are a small price to pay for continued support and the cloud services which synchronise your recipes. Subscriptions could generate the necessary income to keep these services going but I think that would be an alternative that the moaners would appreciate even less. I use this app almost daily and do not mind paying a small amount for such a neat way of storing, maintaining and adding recipes. You can even embed videos.

The search utility is fast and easy to use, the catorgories easy to edit and manage, and with version 3 there is now support for multiple photos. Quantities are scaleable, so whether you are cooking for 2 or 10, adjustments are automatic.

A super app and an attractive way of storing all your culinary delights in a format that looks after itself.

I love this app. I have it on my phone, iPad and desktop and can flip between these as the changes on any of these sync across all the features. I also love the timers and the ability to plan meals which for occassions such as a full on family Xmas are fantastic. I also love the ability to categorise receipes base don my own system rather than one forced on you, and it's great that youu can share recioes really easily.

I didn't give this a five for three reasons: (1) I was annoyed that I had to buy two apps to use acorss my devices and that there was nno loyalty discount even though I was really upgrading the app from an old version on my iPad. (2) The scaling function would be better if you could scale to the amount of a key ingredient and (although this can be done through the use of the fractions for the ingedient scale up) based on a number of servings. And (3) the photo function often needs some tweaking as I want the photos to store and importing them via recipes sometimes doesn't include the photo or only saving down a thumbnail and what I have to do depends on which app I'm using (it's different for all three).

This is still however the best app out there for recipes and I would really recommend paying for it.

I regularly search for recipes online but can never seem to find them twice. I had a huge list of favourites jumbled up.

Paprika is brilliant. I can capture and curate recipes online and have built up my own repository which is searchable and all in the same format - and tells me where it came from.

I know there are some concerns about apps scraping websites, particularly where site owners are independent and miss "click through" benefits. I would hope these issues are not material / not the case. I dont believe it to be the case for me. I am now far more likely to search online. Paprika just enhances the experience. If I use a couple of published recipes from an author I am much more inclined to buy their books (or put on my Xmas list).
