Phil Anthropy ,

Would not let me extend parking exit time.

Imagine the scene. Enjoying a wonderful birthday meal in a high end restaurant.
‘Thinks’ - these sweets look really good, they would round off the meal nicely, I’ll extend my parking time and indulge myself. Tap the extend button only to be told that this was not allowed. To add insult to injury the app offered to provide suggestions on where else I could park (although there were plenty of available parking spaces left in the original car park). If I had wanted to park somewhere else I would not have tried to extend.
Not to worry, I’ll wait for the expiry reminder and that should allow me to extend - the reminder never appeared even though they obviously had my email address as they had emailed confirmation of the original payment. Is there a conscious decision not to send reminders so that they can collect the lucrative fines from the customer.
Situation saved (and stress relieved) by the restaurant owner insisting that I use his personal parking space. Nice to see that some businesses still have good customer service.
This app is not fit for purpose. I will be making a conscious effort to find parking spaces with other companies in future.

Rubbish - don’t bother

Downloaded the app - first day was great - second day seemed to be going fine until trying to exit and the app signed me out, sent me my invoice for payment but guess what - the barrier remained down. The nice men at the car park for me out. Next day went to barrier to enter - reads the app and signs me in but guess what - the barrier doesn’t go up. The nice men get me in. Coming to exit that night and the barrier won’t even acknowledge my app and won’t let me out. Once again the men at the car park get me out and send an email to the tech team to get them to sort but a week and a day later I am still parked at the car park and nothing has been sorted. So I ring NCP - the man in the phone clears the booking on my phone and advises me that it won’t happen again. I come to parking again today and here we go again - the app books me in but the barrier remains down!!! I wouldn’t mind but I’m also missing out on my discount on the app as well as having to go back to tickets. Please get this app sorted - I have heard of other people in my car park having the same problem and it seems that there are others when you look at the reviews.

Developer Response ,

Hello. We're very sorry to hear about your issues. Can you please email so we can continue this conversation directly. We'd specifically like to find out more about your booking (time, reference, location etc) so we can examine it. Apologies but hopefully we can resolve this for you. Thanks, The NCP ParkPass Team

By using this app I’m now faced with 10 days of fines totalling £1600!!!! I regularly use the Great Northern 2 Manchester car park and you need to use the app as no barriers only ANPR and I set up Autopay to make life easier. Big mistake. It worked for a while but unbeknown to me it did not take a payment for a concurrent 5 day period in May plus another day in May and 4 more in June. I had no email to say that any payment had not been taken (this is what should have happened as per NCP website) I received no correspondence of any sort. The first I knew of this was when I received the letters from the debt collectors. I checked my online account which showed no outstanding debt. I didn’t have the option of appealing because of the time lapsed. I’m still waiting for a response from NCP 8 weeks later. The stress and anxiety this has caused is disgusting. I had paid every time prior to the dates in question, between and subsequently. My Bank says no payment had been requested by NCP. There were more than sufficient funds. The app is supposed to stop this situation happening. It is not fit for purpose.
