Description

Do you suffer from persistent pain? Perhaps chronic back pain, migraines, RSI, joint pain or even fibromyalgia? The Pathways pain therapy program will change the way your brain perceives pain, therefore reducing or even eliminating your experience of chronic pain.

We retrain your brain to stop pain with many scientifically grounded and proven methods including pain science education, diaphragmatic breathing, visualizations, stress reducing exercises, improving positivity & confidence, physical exercise, music therapy and so much more.

Your personal pain therapist will take you on your journey to understanding why you feel pain, and work to break the pain cycle. You can track how your pain develops over time, and focus on the pain relief techniques that work for you.

Amazing app, 5stars before the update !!

Brilliant app which essentially cured my debilitating arm problems last year, forever indebted! Thank you so much. Only quibble is just downloaded it again and the old structure and layout was soooo much simpler, cleaner and more reassuring!!! Is there any way to get it back whilst keeping the new section information (eg physio exs)? The transcripts and lack of video were amazing, also the quotes were easy to read and readers weren’t bombarded by 5million options😂 Sorry!....aware that so much work has gone into this and genuinely grateful for the app and its help but the old version -to me- functioned immeasurably better. Its simplicity made it stand out from other apps such as curable.
Please let me know if there’s a way I can access the old version....

Mixed thoughts

Elements are helpful, especially mindfulness and pain biology, but as with many pain management programmes there is a tendency to oversimplify the many complexities of chronic pain. Not all persistent pain occurs in the absence of harm/damage, and pushing through pain is not always harmless. Obviously this is a key principle for primary pain conditions such as fibromyalgia where the only problem is with pain perception, but for pain occurring secondary to tissue damage this is not always an appropriate strategy. Please make sure you confirm with your doctor that a program like this is suitable for you before you start.

Additionally the pain coach can come across as a little patronising at times - my partner (who does not have pain) had a very visceral dislike of her and felt she came across as bullying at times. Personally I felt she seemed nice and well meaning but definitely patronising.

Great app but one bug bear

Love this app and how it explains chronic pain and the challenges too are really good. The only issue I have is that the notifications do not work. I’ve set up reminders for challenges to be notified daily and they don’t come up on my IPhone and IPad. I have notifications enabled in settings on both devices. Any help would be great 😊😊
