Good start

Has great potential. A good start. Really good at combining voice recordings, slide notes and slides. Keep up the good work!!

Perfect for lectures

I have tried many apps for note taking during lectures, but this is the best by a long way, and is totally worth the extra expense.

Recording and note taking is far more feature-rich and adjustable than other apps. Inserting tables by hotkey is particularly useful. Formatting is a breeze as well to take quality notes that don't need to be re-typed later.

Playback is perhaps the time where Pear Note really stomps the competition. You can import slides, so that when you select where on your notes you wish the recording to jump to, the context of the recording instantly appears. This saves a ridiculous amount of time when thumbing through notes to lectures that are 100s of slides long.

Finally, other nice touches - like autosaving, automatic list formatting, multicoloured highlighting, and video recording - just enable you to do so much more and make much better notes than you could have anticipated.

I can honestly say my university work was done in a fraction of the time using this app than other cheap imitations. Don't waste your time fiddling with a free recording app that barely does what you want it to, this app is guarenteed to do it far better.

Needs updates!

Pear Note has the potential to be an amazing app for students at university or school. But update work is essential for it to run smoothly. Since getting it, if I tried recording anything over a minute long, the fuction buttons (play, record, pause etc) would completely cease to work and the recording would go on and on and on. I would try closing the app but it was completely unreponsive. The app didn't even allow me to force quit or shut down the mac, and so the only option was to hold down the power button. Please do something about this soon.
