Not as good as barn and wild
It seems the creators forgot that this app is for very young children and toddlers and I'm sure my toddler doesn't appreciate these arty graphics. She got bored of it in 2 seconds but would happily play with peekaboo barn for ages. It needs big colourful images like the other 2 apps.
There are aspects of this app I really like - the changing seasons is a great idea, and unlike Peekaboo Wild the game gives more idea of the scale of animals and what they get up to in their forest habitat.
On the other hand this sometimes means animals are rendered very small and you need to be looking out for where they're concealed. And the graphics seem to have been created to please an illustration afficionado, not a toddler. I think they're gorgeous, my kids prefer the chunky primary colours of previous Peekaboo Apps.
Finally, the ending is very abrupt! None of the happy animals-together goodnight scenes which rounded previous apps off so well!
This is an ambitious attempt to bring a particular kind of pitcture book to the iPhone and it's a tweak or two away from being really good. But it's pitched a year or so older than the other two Peekaboo Apps so bear that in mind.
For the iPad not iPhone
Ok as a toy but very different to the others in the series - arty and not as much fun. Some of the animals are very small indeed and don't show up well on an iPhone.
