Description
Search for classical sheet music with your mac with this app. The app comprises a musical corpus from the Petrucci Music Library, (IMSLP), the Library of Congress and the Duke University Library. A sum total of 1.6 million musical scores.
The data for the Petrucci Music Library App comes from around 1,600,000 OMR'ed sheets from some 160 thousand scores from the Petrucci Music Library, the Library of Congress and the Duke University Library. They contain almost 370 million notes
The application was awarded the Culture Tech Fund, in partnership with the Culture Company which was funded by the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure. The grant funds innovative new projects which combine cultural and artistic output with digital technology. The fund is open to any organisation or freelance professional based in Derry (county or city) or working with a Derry-based partner. The Petrucci Music Library would not have been possible without this funding, and thanks to this grant, this ambitious project has truly come to life.

Search doesn’t work- such a shame, should be amazing when fixed
The Petrucci project is one of the most important projects in keeping music alive this century. Petrucci is preventing music out of print getting lost forever. I was very happy to buy this app regardless of the fact I could simply search online for the same info. I assumed this app would be quicker and easier. However the search option does not work. A pop up keeps appearing ’no composer found please search for eg Beethoven’ and I’ve just typed a ‘B”. PLEASE FIX IT I am pro musician and keen to promote this with other pros but not whilst it doesn’t work.

I saw an old review that said this app does not work. I thought perhaps the issue has been addressed. No, it has not. Do not buy this, it does not work. Today is 1st of May, 2017. Still does not work!!!!! Why is it on sale????
A great collection of piano and violin pieces
A huge collection of piano and violin sheet music, it seems very much classically focused, but certainly some niche composers present.
