Ratings and Reviews
Works fine, then states no channels installed retry.
For some reason the app gives the impression that it is all set up correctly . I.E. I create a favourites list which shortens the full list to just the channels I watch. Try it out, great it selects the channel number I input. When I need to switch to a new channel my list is shown briefly , then informs me no channels installed. Click on retry, zilch! No lists appear. This happens every time I use the app. I end up uninstalling, then trying again with a fresh install . It is like been on a roundabout with no way off. As I need to use the phone to do other things, it’s frustrating to find I can change over to a fresh channel just once, before the app can’t find my list (or the full list), then effectively crashes! Shame, as it lets me create my own list, something the Philips remote & TV cannot do. Which in itself is baffling . So potentially a good app, but for me it is just a pain in the proverbial !
The app from 2012 worked way better
The old app responded significantly quicker. The ambilight options on it were more in-depth, they worked instantly and visually showed a simple on/off for which ever feature you were using. Where as this version for some reason gives you a guessing game as to whether what you just pressed actually did anything. There’s times I try to use it, I press what I want, nothing happens so I use the remote instead. Then 2 mins later what I pressed on the app applies to the tv. You’d think with the higher processing of these new TV’s they’d be even more responsive. And the app didn’t need to ask to connect every time you opened it. It just worked. Deffo needs a look at.
Needs improving
The only issue that needs improving is the functionality of when pressing/tapping on a button to control your TV, this is very laggy and have to press it several times before it actually processes the function it is supposed to do.
