Nice phonics app
My son loves typing! ( yes strange) and is learning phonics so this seemed a perfect combination. Don’t be put off by the warnings about your data being collected if you allow access to your keyboard... I contacted the developer and they emailed back straight away to say that they cannot see any information/ don’t get access to it from Apple (iPad/ iPhone users)
Anyway app works well and the spoken phonics are great to remind children how the letters should sound.
Slightly annoyingly the keyboard font is not great as it features a non infant ‘a’. Which is not how they are taught to write it. It’s a fun font but not practically the best for recognising letters.
Also the second game seems to take quite a jump from simply recognising letters to having to know how to spell words. Could there be a mid point where you get words to copy? Or at least say the word they have to spell- a picture of a sled is not always obvious, especially when some people call it a sled, some a sledge, or even toboggan.
The notepad is a useful feature and I’ll probably use this with my son for copying words.
All in all though a good app that will help with phonics learning.
Engaging, entertaining and educational
At last real phonic sounds in an app that meets the three E's for early years learning.
