Description

Atrial Fibrillation (AFib) is one of most common heart rhythm disorders and increases the risk for heart disease and stroke, both leading causes of death.
The Photo AFib Detector was designed for personal AFib detection and Heart Rate monitoring.
It uses smartphone's inbuilt back camera to capture your fingertip video for PPG signal extraction and then estimate two parameters of RMSSD (Root Mean Square of Successive Difference) and ShE (Shannon Entropy) for AFib detection. It also provide heart-rate monitoring function with percentage of your maximum heart rate if you have input your age in the setting.

Screen writing messed up

Is there an update to this app. I have used it for years and it has been great at detecting if I’m in AF. Recently when it gives me results, the screen writing is written on top of itself so you can’t really read it. Just make out if normal or abnormal. A small bug but no updates have been released.

Useful app

I developed atrial fibrillation after heart surgery. The surgeon has put me on pills to get me back into sinus rhythm. My doctor thinks the app capable of indicating sinus rhythm so I can book an ECG to confirm.
The app is tricky to use on standard setting. Because my heart beat is erratic my hand can jump around, no matter how relaxed I think I am. I tend to start on fast, then normal and if I'm not too far out of kilter I'll spend 3 minutes on standard.

A good try, but ultimately of no use to me

I can find no way of using it with iPhone 12 … because of the camera layout … and it seems unstable when using the iPad Pro 9.7”. __ Worst of all, however, is that [obviously] it is not reading Atrial signals, but my fingertip pulse … My pacemaker is dictating that rate, not the Atria !!
