My favourite light meter

I use this all the time in preference to my real light meter. I particularly love the one button SAVE that creates in image of what I am metering and the readings in my iPhone photos (including an accurate location if you turn it in). Thuis makes to really easy to add the time, date and location to my film photos after I scan them. The spot metering is also a help at times - just tap the screen, then double tap to remove it. Finally, the one time I contacted the developers with a suggestion they were super helpful.

Works really well.

I was dubious at first using an app as a light meter. I’ve tried it out using my Nikon D70 and Lumix Gh2. On the Nikon it works so well on the Lumix not so good but I think that’s down to the camera as the Gh2 is more for video.
Haven’t compared this app to any other as I don’t need to. Paid £10 which I think is well worth it. Physical light meters can be expensive and then you’ve another thing to carry around. I like that if you have your phone on you (which you would, always) you have your light meter.

Light meter

Excellent app. Allows me to specify none,one or two of ISO aperture or shutter speed then it shows me the correct value(s) for the settings I haven’t locked to get correct exposure in current light conditions. Also shows current white balance as a K readout. Great taking this with me on my iPhone when using my cameras in fully manual mode. Can also set +- for a few stops to deliberately under/over expose (exposure correction) for 3 stops either way.
