I have just created my first book on Photobox using the app and I was really pleased with it. So I have started my next book, but suddenly the app won’t let me type on my iPad. The keyboard simply doesn’t come up. It’s fine on my iPhone but I’d prefer to use the iPad as it’s bigger! I deleted and reinstalled the app but now can’t log back in as the keyboard won’t appear even on the log in page. Frustrating and a shame after the first book went so well.

I rushed to get the Black Friday deal, it said the deadline was midnight on Thursday, and I now see it’s been extended for the weekend- just as others had advised was probably the case! I obviously wanted the 30-70% off, so got it done midnight yesterday. Accidently duplicated on a picture but hey!The price for my book quoted £17 incl a gloss finish, and I went with the 2nd book for 50% option and £5.99 delivery. Not sure how it’s come up to £37??? Again, I rushed it so that I could get the “limited” offer. Paid for standard delivery so they’re due in 6/7 working days. Await….

Using the photobox app I have recently placed 3 orders with photobox; one for 2x magnet prints, one for 500x prints size 6x4 and one for 1000x prints size 6x4 also. The magnets we super easy, really quick to process, edit and order and were great quality when I received them, I have nothing bad to say about this order at all. I received the 500 prints I ordered yesterday and they are all great quality photos and beautifully finished, not to mention packaged in protective boxes that are handy for storing them whilst sorting them out to be placed into various albums. However, when placing the order it took several hours (yes, hours!!) to upload from my phone album to the photobox app. I was connected to WiFi the entire time and spent around 4 hours checking the app - which I left open - to see if my pictures had uploaded before the process was complete. I then experienced the same today when I placed my order for 1000 prints. I started collating my pictures at around 10:30 and finally completed he check out process at 22:30 this evening. A 12 hour process to upload photos is unfortunately putting me off using photobox again as the price incentive for ordering a higher quantity of prints in one order simply wouldn’t be enough for me to spend a further 12 hours on the app for a future order. This is the one and only fault I can find with this service. If you are happy to spend the time then you will be very happy with the finished product however be aware it is a lengthy process!
Been a customer since 2008 and always do a family calendar for Xmas. Before the rise of smart phones I’d do on PC / desktop. Now (should be) more convenient to use the app. They encourage you to use app instead however BEWARE the app and desktop and devices you choose to use are NOT linked! Nightmare! This means your Creations can only be accessed on the DEVICE you started it on. You can’t use your iPhone to upload and start a project, then move on to your iPad or desktop for convenience. You MUST use that same device or your creation is redundant. Also I bought “credits” from Black Friday deal, created my calendar in the iPad, went to pay and found you can only use credits via the desktop NOT the app!! This means I have to start my whole project again on the desktop to use my credits!! What a joke and serious waste of peoples time. I tried ringing customer services… long wait time to get through and an unpleasant experience. Photobox should make it EXPLICITLY clear to customers that app and desktop aren’t linked therefore is incredibly limited. Also you only get a few features on the app in comparison to desktop but app is obviously easier and more convenient to use when it comes to photos stored on your phone! The desktop is hard to use in 2023 with the way we store and use our photos now. Just everything about it is so limiting. I think I’ll have to try another similar company from now on until Photobox sort this out! Such a shame because imo they were pioneering in photo gifts back in the day.

App and website do not work with each other and are designed like they were created in 2002, before apps even became a thing. No way of changing any of the base details after making a creation and no way of copying what you have already made so that it is on a correct design if you do mess it up - you have to start the whole thing again.I made and ordered a calendar in Dec 2023 and hadn’t realised it had defaulted to creating a 2023 calendar. There was no way of changing this after the fact - to correct it I have had to start anew. The P&P prices are a scandal for how long it takes to receive and the fact that there are always ‘time limited’ offers designed to push you into buying without taking stock are all very shifty. Since redoing my calendar a second time, the same product I ordered 2 weeks ago (with the same time-limited discount, reappearing as soon as it ends) is costing me 20% more this time around as well - seemingly the base unit price has been increased in the meantime. I would suggest investing some of your profits in updating your website design and functionality and making it so the app and website work alongside each other. This is something many large and small internet companies have managed to do over the last 15 years - for a company who are based on ‘self-made creations’ to not have this built in to your site or app is purely down to laziness and complacency. You would probably make more overall if you put the time and money in to making improvements as you would get better reviews - pull your finger out.
Photobox don’t deserve ANY stars - avoid at all costs!!!! I made a calendar online (actually quite straight forward), I then wanted to order some prints and that’s where the challenges started. They offer “50 free prints” but don’t be fooled unless you want to pay more on postage than it costs to buy them normally including postage! Want to upload them using the app? Don’t bother - you can’t look at what you’ve already added, or once they’ve been added to the basket view them online. App and online are completely incompatible! Want to add more than one of a print? Apparently that’s also impossible on the app… but if you want to pick some make prints online, you HAVE to upload them from your computer (or another source) and you can’t select from preuploaded album. Well, you can, but it takes 10 minutes per photo as their website is so slow so good luck!! You can’t order or view your uploaded albums in the app either. After over 10 years of using Photobox I will never use them again after this experience, I only stuck it out as I had already made the calendar.
