Description

There used to be an entire industry based on red lights, that would have nothing (or very little) to do with scarcely dressed women - they called themselves photographers.

If you remember these times you probably call at least one of the mechanical wonders your own, which are today known as analog cameras and the best of them didn't have something called "in-camera metering" on the feature list.

Well, here's an App for you - dust off your Leicas, Hasselblads and Linhofs or whatever brand you fancy, stop looking for Mercury batteries and worrying about Selenium, what you need is already in your pocket!

Photometer will turn your iPhone into a reliable Exposure Meter, a modern interpretation of what it should be in times of retina displays and touch screens - for old times sake we have included a classic skin that feels and behaves just like the real thing.

Now go out and start taking pictures with grain, not noise!

Feature List
- digital light meter
- aperture or time priority
- 10% steps towards the next value (white bars)
- color measurement
- lock measurement (grid and lock icon)
- underexposure warning (only grid)
- modern and classic view

Great king Paul ,

Fantastic

I shoot with an old rollie which has no light meter, I never bothered to get a light meter, I would just take my slr out to meter and then shoot on the rollie, this was crazy, now I can just use my phone as a light meter, perfect!

Great when it works

I have been using the app for some time now, here are a few comments. The photometer comes in two versions, the modern version (good design, user-friendly, accurate) and the classic (rather fiddly to change settings). It would have been helpful to have a comprehensive help page on how to use both versions. The app's main flaw is that it freezes and the meter becomes unresponsive after you lock the phone. Also, every time the app is closed and re-opened, you have to reset the settings (film speed, priority to aperture or shutterspeed, etc.): it would be very helpful to be able to lock settings indefinitely. Finally, support is non-existent. I wrote them an email and it bounced back!
