Pillars: Prayer Times & Qibla 4+

Alhamdulillah, I found this app through my sister, when I noticed her prayer time widget looked really pretty. I then downloaded the app for myself thinking it was just another prayer time app, but more aesthetically pleasing. However I was pleasantly surprised to find out there were no ads and it was very easy to navigate through. But my favourite thing about this app is the objective of and how clearly you can see it throughout the app; the main purpose is to simply help other fellow brothers and sisters with their prayer, without benefiting off it or giving any reason to be put off (e.g constant ads, etc). I don’t usually write reviews, but I truly wish the best for this app and appreciate the time and effort put into it. Encouraging and helping young muslims, like myself, to be consistent with their prayer. May Allah swt reward everyone who helped with this app generously and lead you onto grater things. Ameen. In’sha’allah many more muslims are able to find this app.

Alhamdullilah, our aim was to build an app that addresses our everyday needs as Muslims. Importantly, it had to be an app we love using everyday; ihsaan is at the forefront of everything we do. This meant no constant irritating ads and a peaceful beautiful UI for both the app and widget. We want the app to embody the beauty and simplicity of our religion.

I used to use Muslim Pro, but after finding out they were selling data to the US government, I found Pillars, and it’s SO good. It’s very simple and easy to use (it’s great for older people in that respect), and it has NO ADS, which is a huge win. The app also has a widget, which is great because I can simply open my phone and see what time the next prayer is without having to actually open the app. I also love their new feature which allows you to track your prayers throughout the day - for people who are just learning and beginning to pray, this is a great feature to us.

The only critique I have is that sometimes the qibla compass glitches. I’ve noticed that sometimes it will change the location of the qibla even when I’m in the same place. Please fix this :/

Other than that, I love the app and can’t wait to see what the developers will do with it :)

As per our religion, privacy is one of our core values (or pillars if you mind the pun)! Compromising this was non-negotiable and ensuring our users could trust using the app everyday was one of our biggest aims from the offset.

Alhamdullilah, we're so happy you find the tracker useful! It's still very early days and we have *so* many more things we want to do with it to help you and other Muslims build positive daily habits to grow our relationship with our creator.

It sounds like the Qibla glitch is related to the location updating. It can sometimes take a few seconds for it to update and hence it might suddenly jump but will be correct after refreshing! We'll look into it and see what we can do to make this experience smoother inshaAllah.

I came across this app on twitter. I follow one of the developers, and from the time they began advertising to now, I knew that this app was going to be great. The Muslim community has suffered a lot over the last 20 years, and to see that other apps were taking advantage of us and selling our data to security organisations was incredibly difficult. I’m so glad that Tariq and Abdul-Rahman put this together for us, an app dedicated to providing accurate prayer data, whilst putting privacy and no ads as their priority. I can’t wait to see further updates, and for them to add more cool and useful features to this app!
