Description

Imagine a more local world where humanity, connections and unique experiences are central to our everyday lives. Lives that create strong local economies and ensure ownership of our communities by locals rather than giant companies that have no stake in them.

Pixie and our growing community of independent businesses, locals and travellers are forging that world; one payment, one discovery, one new connection at a time.

Join us as we introduce Pixie to the world.

MAKE A STATEMENT EVERY TIME YOU PAY

Pixie card lives either in your purse or in your Apple Wallet. You can sign up in less than a minute using your name and email address, then securely add your debit card or use Apple Pay to add funds to your card—and you’re ready to start paying using Pixie across our growing community of independent businesses.

GET AND ENJOY CASHBACK TIME YOU PAY

When you buy something using Pixie Card, you get a percentage of your purchase back in Cashback. It’s real cash, so unlike points or other rewards, it never expires or loses its value.

Great for supporting small, independent and local.

I have been loving using the Pixie app for the last year in my neighbouring city, Bath. It feels good knowing all the money passed through the app stays amongst the independent businesses in the area. It also feels good as a customer to receive loyalty points to add up and spend in my favourite cafes. I look forward to it making its way to independents in Bristol.

Can’t wait for this to land in every hamlet, village, town and city!!

Great concept and an app with a brilliant future! I see a range of benefits for all involved; the independent businesses, the local customers, and visitors finding their way around a new place.

Does not support accessibility

Living in Sherborne I was excited by the opportunity of supporting my loyalty to our regular haunts. The screen is unreadable with larger text, even on my iPad Pro. (Likewise on the iPhone 6plus)

Sherborne supports an aged community well but this app doesn't support the disabled either.

My favourite coffee shop and bookshop sit hidden below the same pin and the splash screen comes up with ‘not available in your area’. I’m not sure I want to trust them with my bank details. As it runs on Apple maps the advertising from Apple competes.

I have tried to message on Twitter; another unsupported aspect despite becoming aware of the app via this platform. Two stars exist because I like the concept and want this to work but without any clarity on how 500 points is achieved and what this means in value it could quickly lose momentum. As for the card?

Uses loyalty card instead.

Developer Response ,

Hi there,

I believe we corresponded via our in-app support system, but for the sake of clarity and transparency I will repeat here.

As a small but growing start-up with very limited resource we actively encourage and welcome feedback, especially from early adopters like yourself as we look to rapidly improve the app.

However as explained at the time we constantly have to weigh up and prioritise jobs to be done in order to keep progressing Pixie as best we can. Whilst regrettable, we haven’t been able to make the app responsive, but I can assure you we will make it so as soon as we can.

As for the other issues you mention we’re working on a better more informed on-boarding for users to understand how loyalty works as well as an improved map view and many new features that will be released this year.

Whilst we hold ourselves to high standards we are a small team and so I ask you to be understanding and patient as we build Pixie into a world class app and business so we can achieve our mission of creating a more local world.

Thank you for your support and feedback.

Regards,

Greg Barden
