Description
Music and light - convert your boring old light fitting to a Bluetooth Speaker AND control the light from your iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 or iPod (5th generation). Play your favourite music, podcast or video sound wherever you have a light fitting nearby - bedside light, table lamp, ceiling light, the choice is yours. With MIPOW's PLAYBULB™ just turn off the power, screw out the old light bulb, screw in PLAYBULB™ and control it like a normal light, on and off from the switch. OR control it from your iPhone 5 without having to reach for the switch. Turn it on and off, dim it, brighten it, stream your audio to it like any other Bluetooth® enabled device.
The associated PLAYBULB App currently runs on iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPod 5th generation. Version 1.2 has basic light control and Mode functions, future releases will enhance these further.

Pointless item
Firstly it was not clear that 3 AA batteries needed, so second trip to get some. Got home and spent ages trying to find a working app - not found via apps store, had to find via several search engines. Eventually found the app here and followed all the instructions and just like the other reviewers, the bulb is not connecting via bluetooth.
Will return item and next time stick to a scented candle and match - a lot cheaper, does the same thing and they work! So overall a totally pointless item.
Sadly!
I just got a playbulb it worked for 40 minutes!... until I tried to change the settings and enter 'night mode' and set an alarm, then the Bluetooth for the speakers kicked off and no matter what I try, setting up again from scratch, resetting factory settings, etc nothing works. And I don't give up easily!! But, sadly, I feel this product is a fail!
TERRIBLE
Bought the PLAYBULB and the app will not allow playback of music via Bluetooth now because the developers can’t be bothered. Instead, they create new PLAYBULBs and stop supporting their older ones. Why on earth would I buy another PLAYBULB when you have done what you have with the first one?!
