Really bad for day traders. Good for swing traders / long term investor.

This app cost me a lot of money because when the volume traded of a particular stock is very high, the platform will block any trades that you attempt to make (although it is highlighted that this may happen in the terms and conditions that nobody reads). Therefore, if you’re in profit as i was, you are unable to close your position and take your profits quickly. In my particular experience, the app waited until all my profits were eaten away and the volume of the stock had reduced at which point i was in a loss, before it allowed to me to close my trade. Feels like they’re just stealing profits that you should be entitled to as a day trader. But on the bright side, for long term investing this app is good but the user interface of trading 212 would make me recommend that instead.

A very good platform

I came to this company after 6 months trading with 24option who have had to close my account due to Brexit; they are no longer permitted to work with UK residents. Having used the Plus500 demo for a few days, I did find it very good, easy to follow, overnight charges were very low which really helps with Long Trades, but the main reason I decided to use it was the very narrow gap between Buy and Sell. This enables you to take out multiple trades and watch their short term performance without immediately dropping in to negative! I’m no expert in their field but have been able to turn a significant profit (percentage wise) in a very short space of time. My previous platform did supply me with a very experienced Mentor who really did educate me (a complete novice) which meant that when I came to Plus500 I did have a good understanding of the way this all works. If you have NO previous experience, (Plus500 Don’t offer mentors; you need to know what you are doing), then I would suggest you spend at least one month on the Demo system, it’s very good, helps you to learn quickly, and if it goes wrong, you have many chances to try, try, and try again (don’t take out large trades on the Demo, you are not making any real money, so use it to gain experience, not flatter your ego; that can come later when you go to real money).
Overall, I am extremely happy with this platform, it is simple to use and delivers everything I need. Good luck!

Still waiting for my money

Back on 9 April, Plus500UK terminated my new account with no explanation as to why and advised that the balance in the account would be “returned to source.” It’s been 7 weeks now and neither my bank nor their transfer agent is able to locate the funds. I have been chasing Plus500UK for answers, help and support in locating my funds all along, but to no avail. Their answers are always scripted and impersonal and would always reference a mystical procedure and a link to that procedure for us to click on for further information. After escalating one more time last week, I was told that, as per the “complaint handling rules set out in DISP 1.6.2. of the FCA handbook,” Plus500UK has up to 8 weeks after receipt of the complaint to respond. It took me one day to transfer the funds from my account to Plus500UK and, from what it seems, it may take up to 15 weeks - almost 3 and a half months! - for Plus500UK to return the funds back to me, IF AT ALL, for an account they refused to open for me in the first place! I would say that this 20 century “buyer beware” policy Plus500UK enshrines and adheres strictly to should be a warning to anyone who wants to use their app, website and services and that this gross misappropriation of my funds that we see here should be investigated by the FCA and, even, brought to the attention of CIFAS, FA and the other national fraud watch and prevention agencies.
