Pocket City 9+

I long suspected I’d wasted a worrying dose of my time on Fallout Shelter previous to buying this, but I never realised quite how much money I’d also thoughtlessly parted with as the only way of avoiding constant stalls in the game-play while waiting to generate sufficient supplies for the next adventure... that is, until I purchased Pocket City. Wow! In about 1-2 hours I had furiously built up my second city to level 27!!? Amazing feeling, and I didn’t have to pay hidden charges to get there. Highly recommended!!

It does seriously drain your battery playing it though... but there are loads of options to increase/decrease the graphics resolution so that may well help a little with that....

Only bad thing I’d flag is the oddly distorted audio & sound effects... all I can say is that with both headphones on and in speaker mode I thought to myself “is it really supposed to sound like that? has the sound on my iphone suddenly broken?”

This game excelled at what games of the same genre fall slow on, and that’s wait times. Every other game where you build a base or city or something of that caliber is fun to start off, but wait times for buildings to be built get longer and longer until it reaches a point of literal weeks (I’m looking at you Clash of Clans) for something to finish. This game? About 10 seconds is the longest you’ll wait. No in app purchases to speed things up necessary. Really allows your creativity to flow, easy to pick up and put down and continue where you left off.

Only made my review 4 stars as once you’ve reached a certain point, around level 152, when trying to load up your city, the game soft locks and is literally unplayable, it doesn’t let you play. Other than that, would extremely highly recommend this game. By far one of my favourite mobile games of all time.

It’s exactly the kind of drawings I used to do as a kid but come to life with an economy involved!!! Such a fun game and I spend way too long on it haha! It’s amazing and I’m so happy it’s not riddled with annoying ads/ in-app purchases like every other game now. So nice being able to play so freely and offline, I really really appreciate this. Thank you to the developers, amazing work. Also, app isn’t “buggy” at all for me, only very very occasional glitches. Running smoothly overall. I would like to make a couple of suggestions: 1) more policies, and get them at earlier stage 2) XXXL map 3) maybe policies/more upgrades for police and hospital (Traffic and the amount of police/fire/hospitals you need seems to be quite inflated.) This would make the game less repetitive, because I really enjoy building with stats/money involved as opposed to sandbox.
