Great website, ok app, needs instructions!
Downloaded this app based on internet recommendations to read an “independent” eBook. Took me nearly a whole day to work out how to get a cloud account, import a book, and get it onto the app. For anyone else who’s interested:
In the app, go to ‘settings’, select ‘bookstore’, enter your email address to create an account (make sure you note down the password that flashes up as there doesn’t seem to be any forgotten/change password feature), google your way to the PocketBook cloud site, login, upload an acsm file, it’ll sync to your app and away you go.
Unfortunately, after all that, none of the multimedia features of the eBook I was trying to read opened in the app, but everything worked great with the amazing online reader, so who’s complaining?
A great online reader, behind the most byzantine account creation system ever, (still not sure if I’m supposed to have one, had to give my details to a German bookseller?).
Great app, but so many bugs!
Overall great app, as a cross-platform solution and alternative to Google Play Books – I use across my iPhone, iPad and Boox Note Pro. But my God, the amount of bugs! Highlights that don't display or get saved. Organising books into collections feels useless as the collections keep getting reset and none of the books stay in them. Seriously. If Google Play Books ever gets continuous scrolling (instead of just page flip) I'll probably start using it instead just to save me the constant facepalms 🤦🏻♂️
DjVu with blank pages cause errors
“Error during documents open” is popping up when a blank page in a DjVu is reached. Error can be dismissed and the reading can continue, but it's still annoying. If I'm not mistaken, the error was absent a couple of releases ago (circa beginning of the year).
Here is the partial output of djvudump; p. 120 is causing the error:
