Valuable App, suggested improvements
I use this to track my workouts recorded separately using Polar Beat, and it does a good job. One niggle is that when you open “Training” the progress bar at the top of the screen updates but it doesn’t actually sync data - to do that you have to pull down on the screen for a manual refresh. As well as being counter intuitive this isn’t obvious so when I first started using the App I was convinced it was broken. It would be better if the auto sync did just that and if the refresh swipe was more clearly indicated.
I do question the value of having two Apps, Beat and Flow. Both are good, but it seems each is better at something the other is trying to do as well. I’d prefer a single best of both experience and wonder whether it would reduce the number of negative reviews from people who may not be using them quite the way they were designed.
The app itself is great and does everything that you would want it to. However, the syncing is absolutely atrocious. Getting your watch to sync is pretty much playing the lottery, sometimes it takes ages and just doesn’t sync, sometimes it won’t show you your run, sometimes it uploads your run to polar but won’t to Strava etc and then sometimes if you upload your runs to multiple other services it sends them to one but not the others??? Seriously Polar, this really shouldn’t be an issue, after every workout I have to worry about wether or not I’m actually going to see my run uploaded. This is a shame, as my polar m430 and polar flow have otherwise been without fault and it would be a 5 star app without these issues which from looking at past reviews aren’t even a new thing. How has this not been sorted?
Please can something be done to help this. My polar flow 2 will go for a couple of days without syncing and then requires a lot of time and effort to get it started. Currently it hasn’t synced for 2 days & despite what I am doing now, I can’t get it to start the process. I’ve had a couple of error messages saying the process cannot be completed. I’ve tried taking it off, touching the connector, restarting the app and the phone and that has NEVER worked. Any other solutions? I see the app was recently updated. My biggest issues have come since then.... Sad because when it’s working correctly I think it’s great
