Many of our charge points are free to use, with users only paying a minimum charge cost of £1.20. All chargeable units are clearly displayed on the app’s live map.
Version 3.3.1 includes improved security and authentication for your payment details. This may mean you will need to update your payment card information in the app.

Get a new IT team
As per other reviews, this is effectively useless. Had a Polar Plus card but not enough coverage so most charging done at home. Switched to Instant for occasional use. Have yet to get a charge. Same comments as others (no keyboard, no password saving) plus map giving wrong charger number. Two chargers next to each other but map only showing one of them (the wrong one). Tried calling for assistance, strangely always get the same response (I can’t hear you then hang up). Strange that is from landline and mobile so need a better phone ststem as well as a better App developer. Tried writing in Notes then copy and paste into App but then get App timed out (its like they have thought about every way to mess you around). Now giving up and trying to get credit back.
Poor first experience
There are two different apps for Polar which is ridiculous each with a different type of service offering. We are new Polar users and only need very occasional PAYG access so this App is the one we need. But this was not obvious to us on the App Store so we found out the “hard frustrating way” that we had downloaded the wrong App for our trip (the Polar Plus app which is for regular “membership” users who want an RFID card. We only found out after 15 minutes stood in the rain trying to figure out why we couldn’t get the Polar Plus app to work - finally sorted with a phone call to Polar. Please please make it much clearer for newbies! Also please put a label on the machine telling people what app to use, and don’t assume we know. Even when we downloaded the Polar Instant app it wasn’t able to activate the charger for us (kenilworth Holiday Inn) as it kept saying there were coms timeouts to the charge point. We had to phone Polar again, and they were able to sort it remotely for us. Overall a dreadful experience.
The app doesn’t prompt the keyboard correctly, doesn’t input login information from keychain correctly, fails to login, cannot accept text entry on the ‘reset password’ field, and doesn’t want to accept my correct login info. How do you create an app this awful?
I screwed around with the polar apps for 20 minutes while sitting at charge point before literally giving up and driving away. Imagine investing millions of pounds into electric charging infrastructure only to sabotage yourself from being able to log into pay for the service!!! Unbelievable.
