Polarr: Photo Filters & Editor 4+

DON'T UPDATE

I've been using this app since it began across many devices. It is hands down the best there is when it comes to functionality, usability and results. I never, ever review apps but I feel obligated to tell you that removing the text feature from this app has rendered it useless to me. I have kept on version 5 and won't update until it's back if it ever comes back. I don't mean to sound cheeky as I'm sure you know what you're doing but this simple feature is so foundational and basic in an editing app that you have opened me up to downloading other apps, with similar features and with the ability to edit and add text. On a consumer level, I want to use one app and sorry to say but if i can fix highlights on the other one and text, i wont be using Polar anymore. That being said if adding/ editing text etc is something you don't need or use then you really can't go wrong here. For me, version 5 has the features i need. Thanks for making my life easier for the last few years, i use it mainly to edit pictures of the Scottish Highlands (mainly around Loch Ness area, up the mountains) and being able to edit at this level and export at the qualities available is a total godsend.

i absolutely love this app, it’s amazing and it helps me with my fanpage on instagram. not only that but my personal. the best thing about it is that it’s free and most of the tools are free. the only thing i dislike about the app is the ad every time i finish making an edit, it asks me if i want to try gradient and i click try now because there is no other option except ‘upgrade’ and it makes me add gradient. when i go to edit my next picture and i come to save it, it says that i’m using pro features. so i have to restart the app so it’ll let the try gradient thing stop. but overall it’s the best filter app EVER. i would definitely recommend this to friends.

I did love this app …

This app was genuinely so good. I adored how I could download filters and apply them to my images without needing to create my own. However, over the past year or so, this app has drastically gone downhill. First, they made it so only three filters could be saved to your account at once (which was no biggie for me at the time as the dozens I already had were still usable) making it so I could no longer add any more without paying for premium. This should have been the first sign as to the money hungry downfall of this app, however, I continued using it as I adored the features.

Now, another update has been issued. This update has made it so if you have more than three filters already saved, you cannot use any of them. This means that the app is entirely unusable to people like me with dozens of filters saved over the years, which is such a punch to the gut.

I would honestly recommend finding a much less money-orientated alternative to this app unless they end up removing the features that have ruined the usage of the app itself. The cost of the premium is not worth the bare minimum effects you get, ones that used to be free less than a year ago.
